Recommendations Anything good from Webnovel nowadays? (Doubt it)

The website is too complicated and sketchy nowadays for me find anything good. Though I doubt there's anything new on there worth reading.

Basically, I'm bored and want something at least halfway decent. So... good luck!

 

Yeah idk what made them think mixing 100s of unedited/unfiltered garbage stories in with their quality content was a good idea. And then stick a ridiculous pricing model on top of it. You could actually watch it move downhill with each new feature.

 

You will have a much better time looking at most of the originals or older content. Elite mages academy is pretty good

Honestly, the site started to contacting anyone on other platforms. Anyone and it no longer became about how good the content is, but just getting content. So I know for a fact they even were getting like 13yr old kids to sign contracts with them. Legal binding contracts for their stories at 13 that their editors were saying like remember to get your parents to co-sign. Ugh ... The site has become trash. There isn't even a reason to go on it anymore don't search for stories on it. Search for anything else.

Yeah, I just don't feel like having any emotional investment in a novel's characters right now.

If you really want to recommend a title outside of Webnovel, go for it! I just probably know them already.

 

I'm not sure what's good recently.. at least I know Lord of the Mysteries and Release that Witch are living up to their reputation as 'top ranking' novels at their time.. I've tried reading the recent 'top ranking' novels (although not all of them), but I only find something 'decent' at best....

the only one I still read is The Legendary Mechanic, although it doesn't count as new ones..

 

They have/had a lot of good stuff. You just need to sort out the originals on the power ranking. Why they make you sift through shit to find gems is a mystery.

This novel called Guild Wars. It's actually pretty good. Then, there's this r18 one called Dual Cultivation. Thas about it for me....

 

See, I just couldn't get into it. The guy's so narcissistic it's weird! I only got to chapter 2 and I was just like... dude, you were a low-level bottom feeder... how are you so 'self-confident' in yourself.

I saw people praising it, but no actual reason to continue.

 

A lot of less qualified people are narcissistic. Some people win 30 dollars and suddenly think they are a millionaire. At least he was raiding ruins. He also gets humbled in some circumstances

 

What I mean is: Why is it popular? People say it's good but don't say if it is because of plot, worldbuilding, characters, comedy, etc.

I liked how the MC fooled his comrades into passing him, so they'd be hit by any traps, at the beginning. But the comedy got old fast. Though, I did only read two chapters of it... so maybe it gets better.

 

It really picks up once him and Ansa get friendly. The author really gets past his cringy writing to really flesh out his world and characters. The MC actually grows and doesn't just rely on rebirth for everything.
