Because I just really like candles, different colognes/perfumes, incense, etc. And good smells in general (I don't know how to say these things without it sounding a little weird tsk) just lift my mood. I think my favourite of the 5 senses is our ability to smell things. Some of my top three favourites from greatest to least are 'Cedarwood', 'Pine', and 'Silver water & birch'. I hate the smell of spicy foods and I don't really like the specific smell of bubblegum very much either, I think I just smelled it too much in my childhood and I don't like the bubblegum smell anymore. "Eli, should I make a thread about good smells in the general discussion?" "No, because that's stupid."
AH you reminded me, I also love the smell of petrichor/the smell rain makes after and before it rains. And yesss, the nice, earthy, natural spice smell of Earth's soil. D e l I c I o u s .
Detergent. I don't know if all detergents smell the same, but the one that we've used all our lives have this amazingly beautiful fragrance. Also the fact that its detergent makes it so much better. When you're walking past someone and you get that smell you get a feeling of cleanliness out of them. And that's very nice if I say so myself. So whenever my clothes are smelling like detergent I never use perfume over it.
I think the number 1 smell for me would be the smell of "pink bubblegum" can't help but love that sweet smell. Second would be durian/bacon I guess.
I get scent triggered migraines so chemical smells/perfumes are a no go for me. I love lavender, citrus --especially grapefruit. Vanilla or fresh baked cookies... While musky scents like sandalwood, or that cinnamon stuff that's in the (American) stores during the holidays triggers a vicious migraine.
Love, I know damn well you didn't just tell me you enjoy the smell of weed at the ripe age of 15, darling.
