The only benefit is that he doesn’t have to worry about suffering a heart attack anywhere else. (Another is that he doesn’t have to suffer in prison)
The only benefit of his obesity is that he avoided prison. The sad thing is that obesity is a slow killer. It is just a problem that is ignored, he did not gain 551 pounds over night
I feel like they might think of another way to put him in prison? Like they may have him move to a bigger prison where they have bigger cells instead? Or they could try to help him lose weight before putting him in prison (which I doubt they will, but worth a shot)
Enter as a human slime? Seriously, did he really binge out on food to get that obese to make this plea? That level of obesity means there’s an underlying medical condition, right? Poor guy...I can kinda see the point of the plea.
This is my issue with how medicine is run. Just like alcoholics have interventions. This guy should have had one at 400 pounds. He is a danger to himself. At least a gastric bypass would have helped along with a removal of fat The point is the cost. Prison is really a dumb idea especially for non violence criminals. It is a waste of money. House arrest and an ankle bracelet and community service is enough for most crimes
A friend of my late best friend died during gastric bypass surgery. Don’t ever get a medical procedure done in Stockton California. The docs there seems to be generally incompetent.

More like the effects of financialization of the healthcare system enables incompetence among doctors. From what i got from doctor i know well the medical practices of general non surgeon doctors are subpar at best with the doctors practically hired to peddle medicines by pharmaceutical company. His advice i still heed dearly is if your doctor are not curious at your condition or trying to test and get proper lab result you should seek another doctor immediately.
When health care is expensive, rigorous tests are not done. Prognosis is used as a diagnosis. I remember in New York how I got prescribed anti depressant for appendicitis
