Konosuba, Slime Tensei, Zombie Land, Nekopara and Princess Lover among others have been BANNED

In hindsight, there will come a day where a person in Russia realizes his destiny as a literary giant just because his favorite isekai story got blocked.

Man, their lives are hard enough already. Feels bad, man

And then Russia will have problems trying to crack down on terrorists smuggling in isekai with their covers replaced with "good Russian books", while the Illuminati is secretly promoting trucks in Russia to send more people to isekais while the Russia government remain ignorant.

.... and then Russia un-bans isekai because they realize that they could've made a fortune taxing it all.

Iirc, from reading original news (with russian being one of the languages i am familiar with), the main issuethere was piracy, so they blocked off the pirate website links. As for all extra reasoning, that's not even the most retarded idea that the judicial systems keep pumping out worldwide.

I read the reason(or excuse) is: the isekai genre, apparently after, some sort of meeting of parents and other adults decided that it promotes suicidal tendencies since in order to reincarnate one needs to die. Though isekai only covers the MC or MC's going to another world(parallel world, another dimension, etc.) and as far i understand there is no need for one to die to get isekaied(thought is the easiest route and the one that it demands luck at the divine level), in fact, there is no guarantee ones life would be great even after being isekaied. Although if there are teenagers in Russia not satisfied with their damn lives and are whishing for some sort of way out, the isekai genre has no fault on it.(rather i think the adults around should do something about that before they start to blame someone or something)

Kinda reminds me of the Russian suppression of “radical” writers in the 1800s when most of the world was industrializing and they stayed feudal agrarian and tried to keep everyone uneducated so they did not understand what they where missing out on

Well, as a Russian, I can say that most people here use pirated content and free watching platforms which are not afflicted by those laws.

And I guess they fixed their issues with Crunchyroll as I can use it and access these Isekai animes without VPN.

So no worries, we'll get by!

I'm surprised they had to ban it at all. I had sort of assumed anime was already banned in Russia just in general.

They should draw their own Isekai manga where the protagonist only suffers and fails after reincarnating. :blobpeek:

Well, they should push that isekai have some conditions like committing suicide = no reincarnation. It doesn't have to be the main character, just add god making it clear. Thus everyone is happy.

Who wants to read a realistic isekai? Cause lets be honest, nothing more dangerous then superficial knowledge and someone naive who thinks cheats will solve everything.

How can you not know about Isekai Putin? It has like over 9 rating on mangadex(rip)

Banning isekai will only make demands for it stronger.
