Taffy is right No CP is no coupling / character pairing, here I found while lurking in forum :blobsmilehappyeyes:

    1. https://forum.novelupdates.com/threads/female-with-no-blending-fast-wear.92342/ => MC left the ML, she doesn't want to be with him anymore, end up single, she learn to love herself, while it is tagged unrequited love and seemed redundant with no cp but some romance with unrequited love end up with new guy.
    2. https://www.novelupdates.com/series/low-iq-supporting-female-waiting-for-death-online/ => MC only doing her task as low iq cannon fodder, she stay single at the end.
    3. https://www.novelupdates.com/series/quick-transmigration-with-female-lead-aura/ => MC get married to a guy because the system forced her to romancing with guy, not because she fell in love or want to be with him. So when the task is finished, she stay single.
    4. https://forum.novelupdates.com/threads/retired-villainess-transmigrates-into-a-cannon-fodder.109242/ => every arc there is always someone who fell in love with mc, but mc be like "NO, I dont want it", she end up stay single.
    5. https://forum.novelupdates.com/threads/protagonist-halo-quick-transmigration.113900/ => more no ML / love interest she end up with. I haven't read this.

I guess the basic premise is, 1. there is potential love interest / ex love interest 2. she stay single at the end.

    * https://forum.novelupdates.com/threads/no-cp-quickly-wear-and-call-it-mother.116222/#post-5963932 -----> MC has ex-husband.

    -------------

But I think No CP is a good way to know if protagonist stay focus on her goal / not

I categorize those in my heart as "no soulmate": Yes, they married, but not in every arc. Yes, there's romatic partner, but they're not the same person in each world. Sometimes they have no romance in the whole arc.

But for me "no soulmate" is specific to Quick Wear novels so i didn't suggest it.

Yes!! It is something similar to that. You get what I mean!! Yayy!! finally!! :blob_pompom::blob_pompom:

"Yes, they married, but not in every arc. Yes, there's romatic partner, but they're not the same person in each world. Sometimes they have no romance in the whole arc." In the end there is no true ML after all!

Other than world hopping novel, this kind of tag is proper for single dad / mom that has broken romance before and mc decide to ditch the guy and take care of her own child (they decide not to remarried until the end)

Or something like harem that being end up friendzoned. So MC didnt pick any of the girls/guy.

the genres adult and mature seems to be vague and in the zones of each other.

to avoid being vague to readers, can we rename mature as explicit instead?

Can explicit be used to refer to gore, non-sexual scenes though?

Yeah, I never understood why they're defined the way they are.

Adult is supposed to be for Porn. Mature for whatever it is that means "a story with mature themes."

I guess you can put it in this way:

Adult is for those stories which are for legal adults, mostly sexually explicit stories.

Mature is for those stories which are for mature audience, in the sense that it is not a legally binding definition of adulthood. Including violence, sexual content, mature ideas like terrorism and such philosophical stuff.

that doesn't make sense because by saying that it is an adult novel, you are already okay with the mature themes.

i don't think adult means porn. adult just mean like r18 stuff

imho, it's best to match the movie genres.

it goes from all ages - pg - mature - r18(adult)

but r18 can mean that there isn't graphic sex,smut,torture...ect

it can also mean that it's vulgar, while mature just means that it has content not suited for children.

since mature and r18 are more or less the same thing regarding novels, we might as well just have one genre for things not suited to children and then explicit for graphic/explicit genres which we seem to be having more since webnovel and more authors are okay with writing porn (50 shades/redo of healer)

I don't necessarily disagree, but adult = porn is the guideline that the mods gave me back when I was actively working on cleaning up tags and stuff... Though I never touched genres much, that's the guideline I received.

Personally speaking, I'd just keep mature and have adult changed to "erotic" or something.

that would work i guess. my suggestion was to have one for adult/mature themes and then another for the more graphic

Hey I want to add a Happy ending, Bad ending and Other ending tag. I just really don't like going trough reviews just to make sure it's a HE and I also want to know if it's a BE, because sometimes there is the tragedy tag but it still ends in a HE or OE

Rather an ending is happy or not is often times too subjective. I don't think it fits into a tag.

Also, while tags are spoilery by nature, that's probably a bit too spoilery.

Honestly speaking, most of the series hosted on the website are more about the journey to the end, rather than the end itself. That's just the type of series we have. Maybe you can mention these in a review.

Can you list any series that would use them?

I don't think they're bad per se, but I dunno if there is any use for those.

The Second Chance tag fills this niche already.
Sorry, I wasn't very clear... Can you list a few series?

Because like, a tag won't be added if there's only one series that can make use of it.

Ok... is it for both requests or only for abortion and miscarriage? For rebirth it’s all over the site... hehehehe...

    Just for Abortion/Miscarriage.

Rebirth is covered by the Second Chance tag.
