If u think about the Heavenly Dao, it should be the Law. Law of nature, laws of physics...

The science doesn't break any law. They try to understand them. So yeah, you can talk it as science but if one day, the science break any Law, then, they should be called as cultivator. hahaha

Are you just going to host/GM? Because if you're just going to play a role where you manage the RP, essentially you're the Heavenly Dao.
In case of a RP, depending on how you want to design enlightenment (RNG?)...
For a RP, the most relevant/closest thing is the structure of the design, all the rules, etc. The overall worldbuilding.
