So I was in a conversation on ScribbleHub's Forum, and someone mentioned that it was impossible to not have any funny nicknames with close friends. But I've never had a nickname before, and I've never known anyone with a nickname. I said that, and he pretty much responded by saying that it was because I didn't have any friends. I can't be the only one though, right? I won't believe him unless I have solid, reliable evidence, and what better way to get reliable evidence is there than posting a thread on NUF? So, have you had a nickname before? Btw I'm not talking about simple things like Robert to Rob or Daniel to Dan.
I haven't had one either. My name is pretty short so everyone just uses it including family..... So not even one like Robert to Rob.
-Lunchable (I don't even know) -Syrup (Funny story) -Street lamp (Don't really like this one) -Bean pole (no.) -Giraffe (Don't like this one either actually-) -Ollielolli (It just rhymes) -Olliepop (haha it's just fun) -King/Kingu (Cute) -Olls/Ollsers (Cause it's short) -O (just O) -Oliver twist (as a joke, but every now and then they call me that lmao) Sigh and last but not least...from a small group: -My great Dick-san (This one is a joke too) And, of course, there are some names my sister sometimes call me but nah, those be embarrassing ( _ _)
Used to be called Dr. Hare by my close friends in Grade school, still remember that up to this day, even after 10+ years. Was cause I used to wear glasses and I was short.
There was also a time in highschool where I was teased as "Addict" cause I was dating someone who always wore a hoodie, and people teased her for being a drug dealer. jed
I guess yes and no. Walter isn't a common name in my country so anybody who hears it for the first time calls me water thinking they're being funny and the first person who did it. Also Walton. That's the name of a pretty large company here, so I'm often called Walton and when they see any Walton product in my presence they make some funny remark. But that's about it. No specific nicknames. My other friends do have those though, only some of them. Either they don't really consider me a close friend or if your name is unique enough as it is nobody bothers nicknaming you. Anyway, I really like using nicknames. Just makes me happy.
I have a few, Most remembered is Roof (primary school joke) Most recently is Pinoy (coincidentally in Philippines's language, pinoy means boy. When I know that, I just need to LOL)
Tbh I used to think I can’t have a nickname (not for any deep reason but because my name is one syllable). Surprisingly there are, though. The ones I hear most often are “Sunsun”, or “Sunny”
I got called Greenpeace in elementary school because my mom was a 'tree-hugging environmental activist' in a community that made most of their living off some nearby mines and a factory. it was the first time i realized that you could do absolutely nothing and people would still hate you because of your parents. I was seven.
I don't have many- And most of them came from my deadname. But I have some...current ones. E (legit just E btw---) Eli since it's short for Eliott Stupid head Boy. B̶a̶b̶y̶d̶o̶l̶l̶ Girl. Horny Bestie Bestie (I'm serious, some of my friends forget my name and just call me bestie.)
Well, having a Chinese name, everybody just cuts off my personal name and uses my generational name even though I tell them not to because they're all lazy asses!
I must be weird but none of my friends called me any nicknames, maybe because my name is short and easy to remember, also maybe because I didn't have a lot friends. I can only think of my parent's pet name for me when I was younger...just "Nana".
