Depends on the friend. Usually my having nicknames are with friends I’m less close to, or when we’re just joking around. I’ve had plenty of close friendships where we didn’t give each other nicknames.
Some of my nicknames: Little/small Rooster -Because when I was a child, I often fought with neighbors children (I'm not the one who start the fight tho) Computer guy - Because I often help/teach my classmate how to use computer. Library owner - Because I have a lots of book. Fatty - Do I need to explain?
I've had this weird nickname that I really hated I don't even know why I was called by it in primary it was a name of a Russian doll I used to punch and fight people who called me by that name the name of the doll is Matryoshka. That's the image of the doll.
Flounder > Was annoying few girls with plastic flounder~ Kamikaze > I'm very good at skying~ And about 24 different weird words or sounds derived from my name -.-
I've had a lot of different nicknames before Hmm hmm~ If we knew each other I would have called you Roberto with a hard R
Yes, I have a nickname, it is every possible close-iteration of my name that is wrong. My name is just an "Americanization" of a name, but because my name is so similar to like 20 other names that are all similar to each other that people get it wrong all the time when they don't know me well. I usually give people about 5 different chances before I just make them call me by my last name. Why? Because there is nothing more annoying than being called something inconsistent every single time you talk to someone and when they are obviously not trying to learn it either Why don't I get an actual nickname... Nothing has ever stuck and I cringe every time some attempts it.
