Request Confusion regarding Linley metamorphosis (Coiling Dragon Spoilers)

Why was everyone so panicked when he was attacked by Magnus, Bebe started crying... As if he was actually going to die and Linley acted as if it was his last moments even though his fire clone was in the Yulan Continent he would still have survived in the end.....

 

Because most of their feelings were for real Linley, aka saint body, and he would never reach the peak.

 

His life wouldve survived, but his training wouldnt have. He was fighting to get back their family and friends lives, not to mention he wouldve lost His major clones, all the ones he trains quickly in. He woudlve become a nobody, not to mention the emotional loss of losing his Earth Clone, his remembrance of grandpa cowart

 

Yeah a mere shell its like getting your cultivation crippled and becoming mortal again but alas the heavens had eyes

 

Surviving =/= living
The little character Linley has revolves around cultivating, it's more or less his only hobby, it's his whole identity. Without it he'd be a hollow shell

 

Imagine yourself being crippled for the rest of your life.
That's the feeling that linley could have felt if his three clones + main body got destroyed by Magnus

 

So you mean you're cripppled for life, because you only have 1 body and no clones?

 

those clones are built from his soul losing them is a big deal from what I understand it terminates his connection with the element per type of clone lost

 

Because the author needed to put some suspense...

Just imagine otherwise...
" Then Linley remembered... he still has his fire clone that he can train to surpass his enemies, because although it seems like his fire cultivation was weak, it was still op as fuvk compared to anyone, so he said: let it go... let it go... "

 

Yes he had a clone elsewhere but still, seeing him getting attacked and possibly dying right in from of them would still affect them emotionally

 

Its an analogy mate...hes saying it is the same feelings. Think of it another way, you are the president of a company and you are rich with a beautiful family and then to have your rich and position to be taken away to leave you with a poor family. You still have a family, but its not the same.

Same with linley. He still has a body, but he will lose his chances of cultivating the other elements for the reat of his life and he has to live with his most shtty clone.

 

My own opinion on the matter (probably looking too deep for a CN novel)

To Linley, it could be said that his training is equivalent to, if not more important, than his friends and family. If he lost his good clones, that would be his equivalent of losing essentially his entire self and what has been most of his reason for living. Not to speak of him possibly sinking into depression, he'd probably just become a shell of his former self.

Without training, Linley is just a bad father with good friends. His life would become miserable.

I imagine everybody was acting so panicked because they knew what Linley's loss of clones really meant. That and the fact that, even if they knew he would technically live, seeing a friend die in front of you is emotionally terrible.

bad father part made me laugh cause its so true he just leaves comes back years later spends a little time and repeats the cycle but wouldn't like all cultivators made horrible parents unless there at the end of the lifespan/dao road

 

Well, if I died at the time it's true I would have had my Fire Clone. But sadly, my clone was extremely weak and if it died then I would have been unable to advance further.

 

Bebe might look tough on the outside, but is a very emotional rodent inside.

Besides each life is just as precious, unless you don't have any feelings for that person so you wouldn't care if he lived or not, then they wouldn't have cared if he got killed by magnus

 

The dragon blood line if different than humans in cultivation, they are pretty much guaranteed to become saint level. At the saint level the person is essentially immortal. What is a few years when you are almost guaranteed to live forever. Not to mention in the mortal planes linley is unmatched, why make an enemy you can't get rid of.

 

Since he would be downgraded to a weak high god its similar to a great ancestor being crippled from most his strength and falling into despair with chances of suicide
