Discussion Purging your reading list

I have "Default" list where I dump all 1000+ novels that interested me. I just them there, some of them I've never bothered to read anymore. I've change my taste over the years. And I'm too lazy to organize them.

It feels like I'm a hoarder.

 

It was an easter egg hunt for a valentines event (2019 I think?) that I had organized with other nuffians. The easter egg is specifically inside my reading list under "<3" list. The status of Akatsuki no Yona and Asura Cryin' on that list together make a complete link that you can use to get access the easter egg.

Even back in the old days where I read a ton of novels, I managed.
Now I only follow like a dozen novels regularly. I know the usual upload times of most novels I read and check the irregular upload ones once a week. Tracking the stuff to binge isn't too hard cause history exists.

 

I don't use my reading list to begin with; at least not for tracking the books I'm reading. There are six books on it right now. Two of which are Japanese novels that basically don't get updated, one is a Japanese novel that get updated once in a blue moon, and two are Chinese novels that I don't read from NU and that I don't track the status of. The last book is Overlord, and I don't update that one either.

I find the lists way more useful for keeping track of the books I've finished, the ones I have on hiatus, and the ones that I've dropped. They're a useful way to look up information about those titles.

 

Every few years I decide to delete everything and start from scratch. If a story sticks with me, then I'll come back and read it. If not, then I can start fresh and enjoy new things.

Right now, I have a Manga list, Novel list, and a Meh list. I limit what's on each list, and delete things to make room for new stuff, because I have limited time to read.

 

I only hava to read, reading, dropped, and later for all that I had lost motivation in, most I started reading is ending up dumped in later nowadays, no deletey for Negi because have online novel hoarding issues hahaha. But if I do purge it'll probably end up with some irregular uploaded left and I can likely track my regulars myself

 

Haha~ for me i do some searching and dump it in a 'Read Later' kind of list and sort it once i start reading it desu~! Im not very biased towards any novel i look at the tags and look for some reviews discussing the novel, look for some things that i don' like and ponder on whether or not to give it a chance or leave it be.

 

Reading list purge huh.. i think i need to purge a whole bunch over at my stockpile that doesnt suit my current taste and my already bored pile..

 

My reading list categories are CN, JP, KN, Romance, Short Stories and Others but nowadays I just dump in in either JP, Others and Short Story. I used to deleted several stories from list.

 

5? 5!? I have several hundred in each of my reading list sections! How on earth would you get yours down to 5???

It’s, I mean it’s kind of a problem that I have so many, but I can’t imagine a reading list that would go below 30. That just seems... too functional to me.
