I think this tag is one of the most important tags of all, considering the current trend in the personality of Japanese protagonists. It's strange that this tag doesn't exist in NU after such a long time. The best example would be popular novels such as: A Demon Lord’s Tale: Dungeons, Monster Girls, and Heartwarming Bliss And, I Was Caught up in a Hero Summoning, but That World Is at Peace
Androgynous means that a person has features that makes him/her look both masculine and feminine, where sometimes you can't tell whether it's a man or a woman. Asexual means not sexualy attracted to others, be it girl or boy.
Seems like a tag that could potentially be misused a lot though, just because a story doesn't show the mc being attracted to someone doesn't necessarily mean they actually are asexual. Unless the story explicitly mentions it.
I think the main problem with having that tag is that it's kind of hard to prove the MC is asexual, since it's the lack of sexual desire that characterizes them, so if the author adds any scene where the MC shows sexual desires then the tag must go out of the window. (Not to mention that asexual doesn't mean aromantic, so the MC still might like someone even if they're asexual. Oh, and asexual people can be sex-favorable too, so just because there's a censored scene doesn't mean the MC isn't asexual. Sexuality stuff is complicated.) But I still think it'd be an interesting addition, along with maybe an aromantic protagonist tag and maybe a no steamy stuff tag.
The protagonists of the two novels I mentioned both have multiple legitimate official wives and lovers, but either of them doesn't feel any sexual attraction or lust towards them. It's not like the sex scenes are sensored or anything, the just doesn't do anything beyond holding hands or kissing, there's a protagonist who doesn't even do that much. They just feel love not lust. They won't do the deed even if they are sharing a bath, nude.
Please list more examples of novels that the tag could apply for. Tags aren't added to NU unless they have a decent amount of novels that they could apply for.
Like we half of the novels have protags who think the same. I really doubt that qualifies to say we have an Asexual protag, infact it disqualifies it tbh. Undisputed ~10 should be enough.
