I’d like to read a novel with an amazing relationship dynamic and top-notch chemistry between the lead characters. Ever since I read MDZS I’ve been searching for a novel that would allow me to experience a spectrum of feelings and emotions similar to what Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian’s story has. But for no avail so far, unfortunately. There were some good books but neither of them gave me that level of empathy to the characters and immersion in the story as Mo Dao Zu Shi did. Besides character chemistry, there must also be a great plot and believable realistic relationship development. No politics or palace intrigues. More like an adventure or road trip or common goal or student life in a cultivation/martial art sect kind of story set in wuxia/xianxia world. Modern day setting is also ok. BL or BG - doesn’t matter. Please help!
Hmm... Ending Maker comes to mind. The other possibilities are Ascending, Do Not Disturb and Hokuou Kizoku to Moukinzuma no Yukiguni Karigurashi. Lucia as well but that one is smut. Then there is also "Allison, Lillia and Treize". Hope that helps.
Its kinda hard to blatantly say "oh hey this novel is a masterpiece" since everyone got their own preferences. From my experience, there bound to someone using that kind of sentence, and then there'll be someone else who bash it, saying how shytty it is.. Hence, i will also sit down with my popcorn here.
For my preference Ave Xia Rem Y (xianxia) from RR, https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/15193/ave-xia-rem-y, I consider overall the best novel i have read. I assume this will appel to the vast majority of its readers.
I'm always up to rec The Dumb Husky and his White Cat Shizun. This was the novel that made me sob over a book for the first time in ages. If you want a mature story, a realistically tragic protagonist, and the love story of two lifetimes, this is the novel for you. Watch the content warnings.
Mmm for me, I like how real the characters in tattoo, After Our Divorce, I Still Wore Your Jacket and Architect Assistant felt. Fell in love with the stories told.
It is hard to mention any masterpiece-class novel without palace/politic intrigue but still I would recommend Mao Ni's works such as : Nightfall Path towards Heaven
Interesting, but honestly most masterpieces are not in the form of webnovels. I would still like to see what others recommend, though. Oh, and here: Invisible Dragon. A masterpiece, but not the one you would expect.

Definitely. But the ingredients of a potential masterpiece I listed in the topic. MDZS I consider a masterpiece. So maybe someone has read something with a similar vibe. Yes, I've been keeping Erha in mind. But I don't read mtls, so I'll wait until it's fully translated, which is going to take 2-3 years. Obviously, here I'm in search of a great book among Chinese web novels and not literature in general. I've read it a year ago and reread it recently. I've also listened to the amazing audio drama and watched every existing adaptation. It's still the best for me in terms of character chemistry and storytelling plus emotions and attachment to the characters I experienced while reading. These sound interesting. I'll check them out, thank you! To add to the requirements: no transmigration from our world. I would like a more serious tone, when lead characters are first and foremost soulmates, equal and respectful in their relationship. There are some good novels I've read in my search, such as: Heaven Official’s Blessing, Ostentatious Zhao Yao, Nan Chan, Little Mushroom, Guide on How to Fail at Online Dating and Liu Yao. But still none of them gets even close to MDZS.

Record of the missing sect master - Just finished reading this and it's just SO good, absolutely loved the way the plotline unravels, definitely fits the "amazing relationship dynamic and top-notch chemistry between the lead characters" and the plot is absolutely amazing especially if you're into mystery, it's one of the absolute best bl revenge stories I've read so far
I'm currently reading it, I'm at chapter 35 and about to drop it. The beginning was very intriguing and the members of the demonic sect are just the best, but now it became kind of boring and dragged out.
