Discussion What's the first Novel you've read on Novel Updates?

Not sure any more... NU led me to bakatsuki, Sousetsuka, Ziru's Musings, and many of the novels over at raising the dead ninja... an endless list of independent translation sites...

Incorrect Sir! There is a section of the forums where nuffins can post stories... not that ive ever read there... but it does, or least did exist..

I've started out reading when i was 9 years old i started readin Western Literature all the eay until i was 14 and stopped for a while then getting influenced by my peers to try Jp novels

 

After a certain points it starts to jump light years in plot points and stuff becomes more and more generic. I haven't touched it in like 2 years so someone who is still suffering from stockholm syndrome should be a better critic of how it is currently, I.E someone who read the 5-6 chapters that Mad Snail posted in that period.

 

Honestly I registered here because I want to read overlord...

agreed i've come across basically dozens of independent translation sites and some of them are even doing the same translations lol

 

I don't remember since I read on the internet since 2009 (at that time, we choose next novel to read on the friend sites of the site we read on and then the friend sites of that site and so on), but mostly read on bakatsuki
Then, after the mass licencing of bakatsuki novels, I had difficulty finding new novels to read until I found wlnovel or something like that ( I don't remember the exact name), then aho update, before finally settling in this site

I can't remember of it was word master or against the gods.

 

I think it was death March or another JP novel since I only head here mainly because I could bookmark the novels I read here. 5-6 years? I kinda forgot now since I only wanted to read some novels out of boredom. 1 month later did I become active on NUF, 3 years later, I slowly decrease my activities here before 2 more years I completely just almost lurk here and there.

 

Hmm.. oh well i usually rrad on lightNovel and other sites before i came across this site ^^ hehe..but whqt i first read here was "Transmigrating as the hearththrobs cannon fodder childhood friend" Its rlly good yall should check it out :3

 

like the guy above said, it's started with bakatsuki site, after a DMCA and having most series discontinued i searched for others blog and site and stumbled on RoyalRoad and Japtem wich was translating LMS, after catching up i read fanfiction until the crazy hipe about Re:Monster started on Bato.to because there then started a reccomendation thread where there where link for various novels and book, and i found link about a forum for the translation of wuxia novels by RWX,he-man and others.....until the first xianxia i read (stellar transformation) and after that was dropped halfway by he-man and other, RWX piked up Coiling dragon and made blog with donations and other started to do the same(that is how aho and novelsupdates come up). so i don't remember the first novels on novelupdates...since i read multiple novels at the same times. but most likely is one novels from Gravity Tales or wuxiaworld

 

i still remember NU when they were spamming on reddit to go check them out.

anyone on reddit: "oh on which chapter/novel did what happen?"
NU early adopting fanatic: "CHECK OUT ON NOVEL UPDATES!!!"

Technically it was Coiling Dragon on Wuxiaworld.
Remember it due to the fact that I found Novel Updates through a comment reccomending it in a Coiling Dragon chapter.

(Sad to say I read books that came from epub since 2018, and never knew this website exis ... LOL)

 

Lol same i have atleast 50+ LightNovel Series in epub in my phone and i use Lithium as a reader, though i am reading in NU more often latetly

 

I use moonreader+ to read the epub my friend just supply me lol

 

try going to thatnovelcorner.com there's a lot of novels there, and all of them are in pretty good quality some are Premium

majority of the books i have are downloaded from there and there's a release wall that generally lists the releases of the novels (though not 100% accurate)

 

When I started browsing NU, it was I Shall Seal the Heavens in the top list and decided I would read it. Worth it.
