Any time your phone spy and you can tell? >.< How far can your phone stalk you? My sista sent me clips of my niece through messengers (FB chat app). I watched them. We did not mention anything about baby. Our text were "why she crying" "she wanna be pick up" "I was sleeping" etc. My next YouTube ads was--baby diapers!! One time, I was at Wal-Mart. We were at the coffee section. We didn't say one thing about Coffee. All we said was, "should we buy this?" "but we don't drink that often" "it's up to you" etc. Later that day, yup - YouTube show me a coffee ads. You got any creep experience with your phone?
Eh sometimes i talk out loud in front of my computer to make the ads show up when i got nothing to do
I swear that time when I was taking a bath, I felt someone watching me. I opened my closet door and there it was. My phone wearing a black ninja front and back cover . It was probably streaming to the FBI....
My friend and I chat about the most random things and somehow, I always get ads or products related to it pop up.
Probably coincidence, especially since you probably go through a lot of Youtube ads a day, but it definitely sounds creepy. If you guys are so disturbed by it you can just turn off microphone and put a post it note over your camera, though :/ I also highly doubt Youtube can read your Facebook history.
... not really, as I most often talk very kind to my cats and I have never gotten any offers for (kill) shelters ...
You have enough spare processing and memory resources to allow monitoring programs to run in the background?
I'm getting shoe advertisements now, but I know that I haven't looked for shoes before... No seriously. The ads used to be correct when it showed me listings of arduino microships, but shoes...I just go to a shoe retail shop and get something for $20.
Right. That's what my dad does to his, even though I showed him where to disable both when not in use, since he's one of those prone to getting malware if I didn't deliberately make a Linux Mint partition open by default so he had to get use to it over Windows. So, I'll let him think he's smart instead of reminding him that he could have had malware turning those potential monitoring points back on. As for Youtube and Facebook, you're right. They wouldn't share their user data with one another. However, Facebook has been letting all the government agencies mine data since it became a "thing" back in 2005. Even those accounts that get locked out and "deleted" are just inactive and stick around for mining purposes. There was a great youtube vid I saw in 2008 showing the mindmap and linking it together in an interesting conspiracy theory fashion. I forget what it's called now, but there's probably something similar. As for Google, they open their data up at various levels to many third-parties. Facebook does the same. Mainly for ad revenue. Those third-parties, in an effort to be more attractive to Marketing, SEO professionals, and Web Developers will pool their data into something more meaningful along with other places. Amazon likes this as well. So you'll have their algorithms mining meaningful things with their AI. This is passed on to consumers and you get targeted ads. I've seen someone who has a smart house get a reminder e-mail from a shopping website for shampoo when his phone placed his location in a grocery store. He looked surprised and told me he had forgot he tossed it in the garbage the previous day and just used soap that day. I asked him if he read the contract for his home alarm system if they allowed user data to be shared, because that's the only way we could think it happening. The trash can wasn't "smart". It really makes you think.
I think this phenomenon is supposed to be a psychology thing? I think it’s called unconscious bias, but I don’t really remember...
Honestly, just go to librem phone or pinephone if you don't want to do that. Or look at degoogled android.
I mean, to be fair. Its jus advertisements lol its pretty normal to get ads about stuff u've searched up about in google imo and the same its not like coffee is that rare of a product being advertised over social media so it might just be a coincidence lol. no use overthinking stuff either so its just fineeeeeee.
