I'm not sure about the other girls but Bom was never really treated as a "daughter". Compared to the other dragons, Bom is a lot less dependent on the MC. Or rather, she's been constantly helping him deal with the other dragons. She even said it herself once, rather than a "first daughter" she has the fulfil the role of a Mom because there isn't one. And even now in her current arc, rather than the MC one-sidedly helping her solve her problems it's more of a shared discussion about both their problems. Like Bom pointing out that his issues and her issues aren't that much different. Or how she makes him paint as well.
I think there's a chance that the inspiration he gave her wasn't necessarily that of the ghost in a horror story... I'm pretty sure that (mentally) he's at least a century old. There's definitely a significant age difference there. Also, this is more of a first crush for her than true love. It doesn't really feel like something that will actually go anywhere in the long term, especially since he's been very clear that he's not interested.
Even though mentally he is century old, it's said the longest iteration is around 10 year so he never experienced live of older people like having grandchildren or something. So I don't think his mentality is similar to granpa/old people.
He never had children (that we know), but he had wives, lovers, enemies, friends, and more death than most planets see in a millennia. He may be inexperienced in some ways, but that has more to do with the relevant memories being buried by trauma than it does with him not actually having the experience.
The issue with Usagi Drop is that the girl was 6 years old and the MC raised her for 10 or 15 years. Here, the MC met Bom about a year ago and she was an adult from the very beginning. And unlike with the other girls, the relationship has never been presented as a father/daughter one. I think it's more like a younger woman having a one-sided crush on an older man.
“What brings a busy person like you here.” Who the heck said this? I can't imagine the red dragon or the MC being that polite, assuming they even cared about the answer, and it wouldn't make sense for anyone else in the conversation to have asked. “I’m asking for the last time. Will you use her as a scapegoat?” If he's not willing to answer the question, then he should just leave...
That was Yu Jitae, and it wasn't particularly polite, it was just short of 'What do you want?'. Thats pass-agg speak for 'Let's keep this short', giving them just a little time to see what they want after their support with Yeorum.
I think Yu Jitae spoke politely out of social convention. Probably something he figured was correct to do. And if the Yong dude left without giving an answer to the question it would be admitting that he was planning to use Yoroem as a scapegoat. He instinctively realized that Yu Jitae could see through any lies so he could only try to dance around the question, after that he could look for an excuse to scram. But since Yu Jitae insisted on the question he can't escape
I would usually say after that chapter "Ok lets go kill his family off since he's a minor bad guy" sort of deal but since this is more of a slice of life I don't see this going that way (unless said family is a threat to the kids)
This might be a slice of life but the protagonist is very much able to murder someone over a minor disagreement
I don't usually like to do this but goddamn I need this series completed ASAP!!! Absolutely brilliant.
