I am currrently catching up and the royal family bothers me sooooo much. Eunuch Cao has more sympathy for the ML than the emperor and empress. Can someone spoil their fates for me? And concubine Yue? Am not surprised that 1st, 2nd, and 3rd princes are all hiding something with a father like theirs! Ok, it can't be helped if you love some children over others, esp in political marriages, but a parent should still try to treat children equally on the outside!

Its been awhile since I've finished the raws so my memory is a bit blurry.

Yes, for a short period, he even helped in a battle. He eventually went back to the childish personality.

Yes, he is very loyal and sincere to our MC. I cant remember much about his story but he will become a leader of a country.

Think its time to go reread the raws

I think all ML’s followers didn’t accept the MC at the beginning (except the female follower. Think she is water spirit or something like that.)
They slowly accept her

I think these are the situations that have the greatest impact on them regarding the MC

1- when ML was imprisoned by his father at the beginning (it was when the 4th prince was almost assassinated)
She kinda became their leader. She suggested a few ideas and they subconsciously followed her command.
2- when the ML was poisoned and unconscious
Again, they followed her command and also set up traps to stop the people who are after them

It was kinda amusing because they realised later and questioned why are they following a 10 years old girl’s orders

3- this is when she decided to train seriously
At the beginning, the ML order her to train but she didn’t like it. Nevertheless, she didn’t slack off
Later, she didn’t want to be a burden on the ML, so she trained like hell.

Funny thing is, she never complained or cried during training
But later, when she return to the ML, she began to weep like a little girl
(Don’t remember what she said, but I think it was like this. My arm hurts, my leg hurt and everything hurts)
And the ML took revenge on his followers who trained her by doing additional tasks or staying awake all night for something (Poor guys where questioning WHO DID THEY OFFEND?!?!)

About air spirit
This is addition since he have a different kind of problem and sometimes he consults with the MC
It was about his master’s daughter and a promise he broke with her
Their love relationship has many ups and down during the story
Many misunderstandings as the idiot didn’t explain well and she was hurt and didn’t want to listen
But eventually everything was sorted out

That girl help heal the ML’s poison and also became the MC friend
The girl tries to find a way to heal the MC’s father as well

I stopped at chapter 1270 and will continue later (I hope)
Nothing happen to the throne yet nor the 4th prince. (It is a slow story)

There is a drama at where I reached

1- the 4th prince wanted to cancel the engagement
He is under the impression that the MC and ML don’t suit each other because of the age difference
Also, he believes she won’t be happy because of that + because the ML is always indifferent and can’t make her happy

2-
the ML and the 4th prince were talking (the ML already knows that his little brother is in love with the MC)
He mentioned that he will give the military power back and return to the city they stayed at for the past few years to marry the MC. (He already made her wait for years until she grew up)
The 4th prince was shocked and started questioning him or something if he could make the MC happy

3- the 4th’s prince mother
She found out when he was little that he like the MC. She freaked out a little but used that to drive him to gain more power. (If you want something that doesn’t belong to you, you need power to take it)
When she finds out his feeling later, she became really angry and ferocious. (Because it will cause a scandal and reputation)
She thought it was just a feeling as a child and it will be gone after not seeing the MC for years. The mother didn’t expect the MC to have strong expression on her son.
So, she planned to annulment the engagement. The plan was to have the MC drown and the 4th prince nearby to rescue her. That will cause a scandal since an unmarried girl was wet(??? Seriously no idea about this) and was touch by a man. That will force her to marry the 4th prince.
But, another girl became the scapegoat (oh, and that girl was in love with the 4th prince so it was great for her until she finds out it was intended for the MC)

4- the ML’s mother
When she finds out after the incident and the plan to force the MC to marry the 4th prince, she was angry and furious (there were already a few rumours about the MC and the 4th prince)
So, she gave order to kill the MC. Apparently, the head maid in red who works in the ML’s mansion is her spy. The maid failed and died later (killed by one of the guards who works for the empress to keep her silent)
The ML already knew about the relationship between the maid and his mother. so he went to her and if I understood correctly, he cut off all ties with her (he said if she threatened him with her life, she can go ahead and kill herself. He doesn’t care anymore)

5- confession
After the 4th prince finds out that he would be marrying someone else other than the MC, he was extremely sad
He invited her to apologise. It was because the incident was his mother plan.
The MC told him not to worry about it since it was his mother doing. But he mentioned that his mother did it for him.
The MC didn’t understand and he confess at that point. She was shocked and asked if he knew about his mother scheme. The 4th prince got nervous/pale and said he didn’t know she planned on doing this. The MC questioned him again that he may not know his mother’s actual plan but he know she planed something against the MC and if that girl didn’t appear, the MC reputation would be ruined.
He was getting more pale and everything and apologised again and asked her not to be mad

The poor idiot said to the MC if she could say to his father that they (4th prince and MC) were in love, they can be together and cancel the engagement (because his father and the ML always dote on the 4th prince and gave him what he wants)

The MC was angry about his delusional. And said to him because of his action an innocent girl got dragged to this.
The idiot again got a ridiculous thought
He laughed and asked the MC if she was jealous? He told her not to worry because that girl would be a concubine and the MC would be the main princess/wife

The MC was stupefied by him and gave him a definite answer. SHE DOES NOT LOVE HIM.

6- the emperor (+ the 4th prince’s mother)
The 4th prince was heart broken after his talk with the MC
The emperor finds out later since that idiot was too drunk and may have harm his body to no return
When the 4th prince ask his father what would he do if there is something he wants but can’t get it. The father immediately answered “find a way to get it” (and the emperor went, oh crap )

The 4th prince asked his father to cancel the engagement
He said he wants a fair chance with the MC where she isn’t bound by the engagement and he is confident that he would make her love him
The emperor didn’t answer. He went and collect information about the ML and MC for the past few years.
The emperor finds out that the MC most of the time disguised herself as a man. She had help the ML many times and also had a great contribution on the recent war.
The emperor was extremely angry. I think it was because the ML hide information from him or being deceived
I think he would use this to cancel the engagement but not sure how. (Didn’t reach this point yet)

The 4th prince mother was angry because of what happened to her son.
She wanted the MC dead and told one of her followers to arrange it. The follower said that he planted a spy in the ML’s mansion and left that person there for years. That person gain trust from everyone and it seems that it was time to use that person

That person
It is a bit of a sad story

The person who was planted on the ML’s mansion was the maid in yellow (the cook)
The maid prepared poisoned because she was ordered to kill the MC.
The MC trusted the maid very much and were talking about if the maid had someone she likes and wanted to marry. The maid was shy and everything and the MC started listing a few candidate and one of them is earth spirit (I think it was him but I could be wrong since I used google translation)
The MC told her if she wanted to marry earth spirit. The maid was shy, happy and couldn’t believe it.

As the MC was still talking, she reached for the soup to drink it. But the maid knock it out off her. The MC was shocked at her action.
I think earth spirit was nearby and asked what happen. But the MC just told him she accidentally knocked the bowl.
He drew his sword at the maid and asked her what was in the soup (I think something or someone drank it and died. So he figured it was poisoned). The maid answered like a zombie and told them the poison
The MC couldn’t believe it and can’t accept it.

Earth spirit asked the maid why did she do this and who order her. She didn’t answer and when earth spirit was going to take her away, she knelt to the MC.
The maid looked up to the MC like a dead person with red eyes. She apologised that she didn’t live up to the MC trust. (And if the MC wanted to scold, punish or kill her, she won’t complain)

The MC was heartbroken when she saw the maid’s eyes filled with guilt. She asked her if someone forced her or threatened her.
The maid was also heartbroken when the MC still trusted her. Her tears couldn’t hold on anymore and answered that no one forced her and she did it obediently.
The MC was shocked and didn’t believe it.

The maid started talking
She was trained at the age of 3(I think?) and later was send to the ML’s mansion. She felt deserted and exile since no one told her what is her mission and just wait in the mansion.
At first she didn’t care and get along with everyone in the mansion. She slowly forget her identity as a spy but later had dreams if her identity was discovered, what kind of eyes would everyone has on her. So she gradually avoided everyone

The MC listen to her seriously and earth spirit put away his sword and looked at her.

The maid continued that she concentrated on cooking and being in the kitchen. Making delicious meals can bring satisfaction and security, like self-deceiving, self-hypnosis and self-comforting.
BUT, the appearance of one person change everything. And when the MC asked who, the maid said it was the MC.
The maid said that the MC was like the sun (warm), like the moon (kindhearted), and like light surrounding the maid everywhere and took the darkness from her heart.
She said that the people in the organisation taught her everything but not “what is love? What is treasure? What is friend?”

The MC reached out to her and stroke her head. She said a few things to the maid.
The maid was sad because of the MC kindness. She said it is been years and the organisation may have forgotten her. She was happy because the MC would take her away when the MC leave because the MC liked her coocking. But she was tormented when the organisation remembered her. (Not sure, but when she entered the organisation, she made an oath and because of that she can’t defy it)

She knelt again and apologised. No matter what she say, it won’t change the fact that she prepared poison and betrayed the MC trust. The MC went to the maid and told her she didn’t blame her.
But the maid said even if the MC forgave her, she can’t face the MC again.
The maid collapsed and spit blood. The MC got scared and when she finds out that the maid was poisoned, she cried out to bring the doctor.
But the maid told the MC that the poison is incurable. Since the orginization gave her a second life, she would return it to them

The maid didn’t regret coming to the mansion and meeting the MC. She turn to earth spirit and also said she didn’t regret meeting him either

She died

He was forgiven but his heart couldn't take it. Before his death, he prepared gifts for MC's baby every year that comes in 2 genders since there was no way of knowing if it was a boy or a girl. It was delivered to MC after 4th Prince's death. Really heartbreaking, he planned it all along.

Well, darlings there are 3 transmigrators and yes they did meet, became friends and found out almost at the end of the story.

the 4th prince i could see how he threw away his second chance but the second maid didn't get to choose. from reading the spoilers, i believe she was already poisoned and when she chose to defy the order she was sentenced to die. it wasn't her choice to kill herself

ah there are a lot!! these are some moments that i found cute/sweet. sometimes it’s moments w/ Wood Spirit where he’s constantly playing w him (poor Wood Spirit). other times he likes to side w our ML and tells FL to treat ML well and all that! it’s especially endearing when ML comes home from the palace visit feeling all dejected but then he sees Chu Dad and Chu Mother and FL waiting to eat dinner w them. that’s when he sees that he DOES have a family.

anyway, i ALSO want to see more strong and silly MLs!! one that really dotes on the FL and trusts + believes in her so that there aren’t any huge misunderstandings. ML that trust and know how to communicate... the BEST!

Wow it's been a long time since I last read this novel lol. But from what I recall, I'd say you have to read maybe 200-300 more chapters to get to fluff. It was around the halfway point in the story that ML almost dies from an assassination attempt & MC gives him a reason to live. Then they kind of hide away into obscurity for a while: during this time, ML consolidates his forces and heals, MC grows up, and the romance between them starts up.
