Try doing Zumba in the neighbourhood with all the mums and grammys. Might help with building confidence to dance instead.

If you want to impress the reception, try doing Kazotsky Kicks.

While the dance itself is not difficult to learn, it is difficult to execute.

Dude. I seriously doubt I can move like that, but thanks for the video.

I agree. Just learn a basic waltz and you'll be set.

How about the my achy-breaky heart dance? . Appropriate music for country theme events.
You could also try tap dancing with country background music.

Ai-chan doesn't know what dance you guys have for weddings over there, since we don't dance at wedding parties over here. But Ai-chan's friend said that nobody would expect you to be a good dancer at weddings. So just do whatever you're comfortable with, even breakdance is fine. However, your aim is not to show off, but help make it feel like not a total waste of time. So any dance you can learn in half an hour from youtube is more than enough.

What you can do however, is make the wedding unforgettable for your sister. If you know how to play an instrument, dedicate a piece to your sister's happiness. If you can sing, find a suitable song that fits the mood and you're comfortable singing to, bring the mp3, and sing for your sister. She will remember this forever so don't do anything that would embarrass her.

The country dance is doable, but the tap dancing. No way. Mostly because I don’t think I have the time. But thanks for the tips

I think I might do this. I’m going to memorize the song the flash grant gustin running home to you and play it on a ukulele. Well, I’ll at least try

You're looking to impress ? You'd need to put a lot of efforts for that. Alternately you can just silly dance in jest to humor the guest and families. Just make sure you're looking to have fun doing them even if you're faking it.

try country swing, its easier than it looks, even i can do it (not well but passable)

See if the town it is in has any traditional dances, if you can. Ask your family and the brides family about traditional dances and what is expected at a wedding, dont ask the bride or groom unless they are enthusiastically planning the thing.

Yup, tried but no one would tell me anything except where it is at. But I’ll look into the country swing. Thanks

I'd say do what people like you are doing (don't dance like an elderly woman is if you're not an elderly woman) because what's expected might differ by age/gender/role. Since you don't know what type of dance to expect, you're probably going to have to improvise/adapt in the moment.

More importantly, if you mess up don't take it too seriously unless others do. People who get upset at themselves can dampen the mood. I don't think anyone expects something amazing, so I think everything will be fine as long as you keep the mood up and everyone content.

Also, after you go to the wedding, I'd be interested in knowing how the dancing went! What music/dances happened etc.
    No need to share though.

Have fun! Congrats to your sister!
