After reading so many novel still not able to define what is Dao then search web find Tao te Ching, Zhuangzhi,Alan Watt , but still get a single word - A Way / action without intention. But still we know that we have to do this work without having intention so that we would get closer to dao but having intention already contradict action without intention . Then what is Dao
Definition. You're trying to define definition without having a subject, your scope is too wide fellow daoist. Also, you don't have to do, you just do and therefore you are. Do you have to breathe? do you think about doing so? By breathing you follow Dao.
Then everyone is following dao but what we are following we are still limited by our genetic makeup .
Dao is like a unique expression, something that can’t be explained but can be felt. It is understanding that transcends understanding, and goes beyond the object. It’s basically always extremely personal and can’t be relayed. At least that’s how it is in a spiritual context In novels it’s basically just how skilled are you at so and so thing lol.
Dao is not something you achieve, is the way you do it. It's the so-called state of mindfulness when it's said you perceive the world as it is.
As you already know that you have to perceived it then you already know what are u doing so it is not inline with action without intention
Dao is a path you use to get stronger and deepen your understanding of life and the laws around the world. Eventually you use this path and your worldview to transcend humanity and eventually achieve immortality.
It is a philosophy of life and leadership First two lines: The Tao that can be trodden is not the enduring and unchanging Tao. The name that can be named is not the enduring and unchanging name. If we gave you a distillation in this forum, our answers would likely be wrong.
Eh, Dao is Dao. Intent or Desire. It's up to your understanding, that's why I said Dao is everything. It's up to your understanding of the world around you, how you interact it, and what you will be doing in furthering your understanding. Teaching, Researching, or even Meditating.
The "action without intention" is a mistranslation from western culture. It's the concept of 無心 being misunderstood as "emptiness" when it's actually an active state of clearing your mind. It's a state in which you're still engaging with the world. Otherwise, meditation would be equal to sleep. It's based on intuition and not logical thinking, which makes you jump from one thought to another.
This topic have gotten so deep already, we should summon the Elder like RWX or Deathblade and the others.
Fellow daoist elders are intercepting Thunder Sect members You should give us some enlightenment to our inner sect members
https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLDVYjnosumiC9rxzv0QATivrlhjFQBJyG Best answer I can give. Tho I have to say that the Dao is ever changing. Something abstract, not meant to be easily defined, without loosing some of it at that time.
Doa is sorta everything. it is the path and way of all things, infintly complex yet simple at the same time. There are small doas like learning how to cook steak to perfection, but doa is everything(complex) so you realise that taste is subjective and more factors are at play like presentation, source of meat, the mood of a person, the ambiance, the eater's age, background, what theyve already eaten that day, even something like genetics can play a role in the continued mastery of steak Dao. A long metaphor for the interlocking nature of the way/dao to reiterate even the simple things have Dao but they are connected to other Dao within more pervasive grand daos like life and death or being and not being. Tldr a grain of sand is a grain of sand but also much more.
