I'm not sure when I started, but I've been thinking in English for as long as I can remember. It has its perks, but my mother tongue has also degraded to the point I don't think I can write an essay in it anymore. :sweating_profusely:

...wait, that actually sounds bad. I should go find some short stories to read! :notlikeblob:

Both in English and Punjabi depending on if I’m speaking English for a long time or Punjabi sometimes I force the Punjabi out and go for English completely cause I put on a weird fake accent in my mind

Uhh I think in both of the language I know~ It mainly depends on what I'm currently doing. Like at the moment I'm just thinking in english as I think of a response to your question. xD But when I'm at the office or with my family I would think in my mother tongue. :blobneet:

Normally I think in English. When I was learning Japanese, though, I would sometimes think in Japanese.

I’m curious about what Psyxy’s native language is! blobmelt_thumbs

I usually think generic thoughts in my mother tongue.

But when I'm creating any kind of story, it's always in English.

Funny, I often find myself in that situation as well, I don't since when, I've been thinking in English as long as I can remember. I do have troubles too, but I don't really speak a lot, so it really doesn't affect my daily life that much.

Mainly I think in my mother tongue or English. I switch between them rather unconsciously. However if I'm enraged, it's always mother tongue.

If I'm in mood for slight revision of languages I know at level of expressing myself freely but not fluently as mother/Eng, I enforce "thinking" in lesser languages. Kind of linguistic kink

It depends on what language I'm communicating with or what language is associated in my mind with the specific subject.
I had some difficulties teaching in English because my major was done in my native language.

English... no matter whether I'm talking in Chinese or Spanish (which isn't even close to being fluent enough for thinking). It's just suuuuuper familiar! :blobtaco:

I only switch to Chinese if I'm recalling some CN words blobmelt_thumbs

I usually think in a mix of English and Chinese but it also depends on the subject I'm thinking about. At least you can read in your mother tongue... I can barely read or write anything in mine D:

Same.. It may have something to do with English being the language we use to communicate with most people. We also tend to watch and read in English, for example English or translated to English novels and manga, anime and movies mostly with English subtitles and not with subtitles of our own mother tongue..
I recently started reading books of my language too.. :cookie: Good luck~ :justabotheart:

I think in the language I am speaking in. But when I am formulating thoughts, it ends up being the language the thought is closely associated to. Which usually ends up being English, because I consume more English content than anything else.

And my Tamil is going awful:notlikeblob: we already mix English in it:blobsob:

Mostly I think in English when I am too engrossed in thoughts and less often in my mother tongue . Also pictures and emotions these two languages are I think Universal and more close to my brain(yeah emotions and pictures ) idk but yeah.
My first language is not pure anymore cause it's heavily loaded with English.
I would like to think in french (just wishing)
