As per title, mangadex(dot)org is back! Not sure 'bout the login/registration part though, tried to login but the system said my password didn't match & no password recovery at the moment
I was able to log in and I see my lists there as well. But I don't see any website settings or the comments section. I'm sure they're working in getting it all set up. But the new version looks sooooo good! I absolutely love the layout
On a sidenote, it looks like some ISP's are scanning the IP addresses on the packets and black-holing mangadex requests so you're going to get timeout messages as your connection attempts will never reach the mangadex servers. To get around it, you'll need a VPN or Tor browser to spoof the destination. It's been this way for like 3 weeks now, I think. Well, that or ddos-guard.net is blocking whole swathes of IP addresses since I'm very certain that I'm not running a ddos bot.
I was able to change my passwords when the old site said to change my passwords before it went down, that's probably why my accounts got accepted when logging in.
Cool. Looks a bit weird though. Like it was made for mobile or something. Will take a bit of getting used to, as it always is with switching to a new manga site. Hopefully some of the translators that stopped translating when mangadex was down will come back.
THANK YOU FOR LETTING ME KNOW Time to pick my old unhealthy reading habits! Damn... Its so weird to see the last update was 2 months ago
Ok, I already see a HUGE problem. The latest releases page, the place where I get all my mangas from and stay updated on what I'm reading, it's absolute shit. You don't see the covers and you can't go to the manga page, you can only go to the specific chapter that was released.
This is easy to adjust and I'm sure they'll fix it eventually. This is only early access so that people have something to try after months of downtime. Still, though, personally I'm not a fan of a bunch of loading spinner when I open up a web page. If this how v5 SPA site they wanted to deliver I personally prefer the old MD over the new one.
Who knows, its minimalist nature might be better for mobile users. Cause most of the people reading mangas there do read it on their phones. But for us PC users who prefer to have every option on the UI be able to be on the screen without changing pages, it does feel a bit frustrating.
They are using UI frameworks so it should be pretty straightforward to add more details to desktop users as well as long as the one who's responsible for the frontend knows what they are doing. This is still an unfinished website and it is popular practice in frontend development to flesh out from mobile UI first then develop for the desktop.
