Discussion There's a good reason to not read berserk for those new to it

    That reason is that the story will never be finished, at least with how the author originally intended. That is one of the greatest ball-aches one can suffer, an unfinished story.

    Save yourself both the heartache and the ball-ache and don't pick the story up new readers.

    How do you know that? I feel like he would tell his assistants how he intended for the story to end.

    Even if not finished, Berserk is still a classic so rather than not reading it I'd say reading it while keeping in mind that there's no end.

    It wasn't that long ago though, I think most people that care are already aware of it. I could see this thread making more sense 5 years from now... >.>

    If you absolutely need an ending for something to be worth reading, then sure I guess.
    Personally I would take something enjoyable but unfinished over something terrible but finished anytime though.
    Besides it is still quite possible that they can continue the story close enough to what Miura would want it to be, all depending on how well he had written down his plans for the story, even if I'm a little doubtful about it.
