I was wondering if anyone can give me some examples of Xianxia novels where the MC evolves on a genetic level. I don't mean just Ki cultivation. What I want is a main character that becomes a superior human, like Warlock of the Magus World or Swallowed Star. A novel where the MC's genes evolved, and not just a novel where the MC becomes stronger by cultivating.
Xianxia novels prob wont have that because the genre is about find the dao if i'm correct, so xuanhuan is the one your looking for or just look up tags where genes evolving correlate.
if u can stomach RRL than spectral regalia.... wvwn though the story goes up and down a lot on the interest scale
hmmm... isn't strengthening the bones, blood, and muscles, as well as the other organs- sort of like change in the genetic level? it's basically changing the body's normal biology- all that can't happen without some sort of genetic modification. xianxia mcs are closer to warhammer spacemarines than to normal people.
In the novels where genes upgrade, such as Swallowed Star, they usually do upgrade as a direct result of cultivating. The only true difference from pain cultivation stories is that children would be more talented the stronger the parents. If, however, you just want the MC to obtain a superior body, then there are quite a few novels with body-refining MCs. PS: try Stunning Edge
Ultimate evolution Doesn't XianXia just call it Bloodline tho? MGA: mc have those dragons. ATG: mc got some evil , dragon, phoenix, vermillion blood. ISSTH : MH got his super powerful bloodline. Xian Ni: Ancient god bloodline.
Warlock of the Magus World. More of a focus on bloodlines and cultivation, but it's done in a very scientific way that makes you feel the MC is focusing more on research rather than cultivation. There's a lot of reasoning behind the way he goes about raising his powers and he experiments a lot through compiling data. Good story. Galactic Dark Net has a little bit of this in it. It's a futuristic xianxia so it's got the sci-fi theme you might be looking for. Not sure if it's ever explicitly genetic at any point, but it's got that sciency quality you're probably looking for. Global Evolution is the obvious answer to this question as well, as pretty much the entire this is based on genetic evolution. It's okay.
No its not. As an example, weight training doesn't change your genetics. You can harden skin by repeatedly damaging it as well. Your body is fairly flexible has a lot of systems in place that allow you to adapt/strengthen. The only one of these related to genetics is epigenetics and that does not involve new genes it involves gene expression (Turning genes off and on and such). And the idea of changing your genes once you are already an adult is fairly flawed. It's like changing the blueprints to a building that's already 90% complete. Thats why when we perform genetic modifications to organisms we generally do it when they are an embryo. When done to an adult we generally only modify tissues in specific organs (Gene therapy) and these generally don't involve major structural changes. Can't we just replace genes with "magic" or "soul" or some other made up thing?
Swallowed Star fits as well. The cultivation is the story is based around using cellular energy to rewrite their genetic code to become stronger.
Do people just not read the first post? Op clearly implied he's already reading Swallowed Star and Warlock of the Magus World.
strengthening the bones (to a certain extent)... yes, possible. strengthening the skin (to as hard as iron?) not possible. changing the blood... not possible. strengthening internal organs... not possible. strengthening/changing the senses to fantastic degrees... not possible. lifting 20x your weight... not possible. op wanted a xianxia where the mc becomes a superior human- every xianxia is like that. wotmw leylin gets the kemoyin blood- xianxia mcs get dragon, phoenix, golden, whatever blood. it changes them at the genetic level.
