Cleaning up tags on NU

    Keep the tag. It's ok to merge some into categories (europe instead of britain, france, etc), but do not delete them. It's pretty useful when looking for a novel with specific setting


    I believe there should be difference between multiple worlds (several world that exist at the same time, most reincarnated story and xianxia is in this category), alternate reality (one world with "what if" setting, example: gintama), parallel word (think of byakuran arc in hitman reborn!).

    Right now they are a jumbled mess that is hard to sort.

    England , France , German into European Ambience
    Undercover Agents into Spies

    Changed :
    (most of) Games into (clearer) Online Game and Galge
    (some of) RPG , MMORPG and VRMMORPG into their correct tags

    Removed :
    Game World (redundant because tagged novel either can be put on Transported into a game world or Online game)
    UFO (single entry with UFO title)

    can the / be removed from these two tags?

    as you can see, although the tag has / in it, the url doesn't. so, even if the tag in series were edited to Priestesses, it will automatically revert to Priestess/es due to generated url being the same

    recently @remy911 added Male Yandere tag so should Kuudere and Yandere also be split between female and male lead?
    more importantly, if a series is a harem/reverse harem, can any member of the harem be considered as female/male lead?
    if yes, then Tsundere should be split between the existing Tsundere Female Lead, and Tsundere Male Lead right?

    and, what is the different between 'post-secondary schools' and 'college/university'?

    one more, smart vs clever, should it be merged?

    idiots not knowing what the genre means and labeling anything with sex as smut. Then other people correct it and it goes back and forth...sigh, I will lock the genres once I'm done with my test.

    I am sick and tired of removing this "smut" genre tag. Some idiot is labeling anything with sex as smut. Please, can any mod or admin correct these genres and lock the genre?

    You even have the damn genre description over there. If it is not enough, people can crosscheck with "MU" page for it is relatively more regulated. But, no, the idiot should insist on it.

    I will try to check the edit log more often. Do you know one or two title that need to be genre locked?

    you can check you reading list first cuz with your power as staff member at least you can lock genre on your reading list

    I know quite a lot of titles labeled wrongly as smut. I ve been fixing them but someone is messing them up again. I guess all of them needs to be genre locked. I am at work right now, I will go home in 2 hours, as soon as I get back I will give you the list.

    I don't care about the urban dictionary or yaoi, yuri stuff. However, labeling anything that is related to sex as smut is wrong. I am not going to discuss the titles 1 by 1. I am also not an expert on it. If I am in doubt regarding any genre, I always crosscheck with mangaupdates. Moreover, the genre descriptions of NU are the same as MU so there is no problem.
