Yeah, but you’re supposed to be used to it. This is Seattle. Sleepless in Seattle is actually true. Last year, it rained 200 days.
Yeah, I have to deliver mail in the middle of this Seattle heatwave, 15 carriers calling in sick casing another route then carrying half that extra route. 12+ hour work days Fun fun fun!!! We're hiring in this understaffing maddness!
The human body becomes adapted to their local climate, so what is hot for some will be mild for others. This has nothing to do with endurance, but is a literal biological difference in chemistry. People from colder regions are better at holding onto heat. Great in the cold, but terrible in hot weather. For hot region people it is the opposite, they sheds heat very easily, but have difficulty enduring cold weather. Bonus: The body can chance and adapt to a new environment if exposed long enough. It just takes a very long time. According to my Step Father when returning from the middle east, to the Northwest he felt like he was freezing even in summer, and it took him about 9 months for his body to readjust.
It doesn't help that due to the mild weather a lot of houses aren't equipped with air conditioning. At least my old house was like that. I switched coasts several years ago, lol. I'm now thinking the 78F/26C weather I'm having right now is kinda cold.
where are you from? Miami usually around high 80s and 90-95F and rare 100s sometimes even in winter it's still warm with occasional cool days that feel like your in a room with AC on. You should buy a mini split AC they work wonder in apt if you can afford a second one you could put one in the living room another in your bedroom. Spoiler: Ebay ac https://www.ebay.com/itm/1143439750...E9kjoebaod4q1jumyaJq|ampid:PL_CLK|clp:2047675 They have one with 2 AC unit, but those are much more expensive. they have some cheaper models that are for smaller rooms too.
The thing is no matter how adaptable we are, if the temperature is above 120°F, if you can't cool down the temperature, you will die
Correct, human adaptability is finite. Even people that live in the equator can die from the heat if they're not careful. Obviously the same logic applies to people that live near the poles.
