Discussion [BL] Novel with taobao shop trope

I come across this kind of novel a few times before but never read any of them. On the other hand, I'm quite curious how would a story that revolves around a taobao shop goes.

What so special about this trope? Ain't it just a shop? It's not like the seller can create items to sell out of thin air.

Can anyone explain it to me? :3

Isn’t it similar to the farming trope? Where the whole point is watching MC slowly accumulate wealth, prestige, and financial security? Or maybe I’ve just misinterpreted the whole genre

 

R u talking about the actual shop or the trope? I can explain taobao but idk there's even such a trope

It's first time I heard of this being a common trope, but I've read one story where MC is a shop owner and later found love through it, and another one I saw MC is transmigrated to the past and has taobao system where MC can buy things

 

Oh, these aren't saying that MC is a shop owner, these are saying that MC transmigrated somewhere but he somehow has access to Taobao and can buy modern day conveniences from there, I guess.

It's like how in Tondemo Skill de Isekai Hourou Meshi, the MC has access to a shop interface he can buy things from. It's a common isekai trope that I guess has now been carried over to the Chinese side.

 

probably since taobao can buy a bunch of stuff, it should be referring to the trope where the system is an online shop and you can get a whole bunch of things that others in the era can't?

ah yeah yeah~ those items from the shop also usually come with OP buffs~
