Did you ever get spanked as a kid if so for what reason I see it sometimes in movies kids getting spanked by their dad or the belt on their bottoms and was curious if that’s actually a thing?
Naturally. A hanger, a belt, a tree branch stick, a broom stick. Really anything that could be in their use.
Belt. Spatula. Hand. Rolled up newspaper. Long cardboard piece. Water bottle. And if they were PISSED (or bored...) which was most of the time, whatever they had in their hand if it was durable. We were also put in the corner, or locked in our rooms. I had to be sat on since I wouldn't stop crying, and would sometimes bite. Once, they threatened to put me in the oven and I didn't leave my room for most of the day and kept crying.
Im asian, and yes I was spanked with a belt, broom, slippers as a kid. Also was slapped. It stopped when i learned how to endure and not cry.
I have personal experiences with belt, badminton racket, hand, and meter sticks (yes PLURAL bc one snapped in the middle of spanking so my mom bought 2 and taped them together for future spankings). The only spanking I fully remembered was when I almost got hit by a motorcyclist in Vietnam bc I wasn't looking before I cross the street. Some of the neighborhood kids told my dad and then it was R.I.P that booty.
Yes, by hand and belt from my mom for lots of different reasons, but mostly boiled down to me not doing what I was told. It was with a paddle at school (every year ftom 1st to 5th grade) for not following the rules, and once for bad grades.

A nanny once spanked me and got fired immediately. I have absolutely no memory of this, so effectively I’ve never been spanked. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I do hear about it happening to other people, though.
My parent don't spank they hit you mostly it was my mom tho. She hit me with a belt with shoe with a flip flop, broom, coat hanger, hose, extension cord, spatula, wooden spoon for cooking I don't recall what else atm it might be from brain trauma. XD I was terrible disaster as a kid fighting, coercion, extortion, blackmail, vandalism you name it I did it. this was before PC age. I would spend most of my time out on the street roaming the neighborhood unsupervised. I would get straight F in school from grade 1-6th grade. I remember hiding my report card and suspension forms and detentions slips in a fence that had a hole it was a fence that was on my way to and from school. The teacher couldn't even call home cus I would never turn in the emergency contact card. She or he would write a note that I would never send home. eventually teachers just left me alone. I turned thing around in 7th grade cus I stopped getting into fights because all the bad elements in my school were already being kicked out. I remember there was at least 100 kids in my middle school who had failed at least 2-3 time around 16-17 years old and all they did was fight and cause trouble for others picking on all the small kids at this point.
Hahahaha, yes, by whatever was close at hand usually. The memories, I talked back a lot and didn't listen. Weirdest thing I was hit with was a baguette. It didn't work very well and I had to wait while my mom found something else. Big hint is not to run.
Never been hit anywhere! However, me and dad had thrown things at each other while fighting and I, by a very minute margin dodged the flip-flops thrown at me. *Whew*
