Wost interpreted both ways. Being "The insult was bad, I almost found it amusing" and "The insult was horrible, it did hurt a bit/a lot"

    ---
I was called a burnt piece of jerky by an 8th grader once and it scars me to this day. :blobcry:
I didn't even DO anything I was just walking in the park and she said, "You burnt piece of jerky!"

It has nothing to do with race, my parents didn't pass down any good melanin for me, my older sister took it all. >_> I'm pale as hell. So...it was weird. But it hurt.

One that I found more humourous was "Dumbass hunk" by a guy in the lunch line. I'm not sure what the reason was for? Whether he was upset because I got there before him, or I was too tall and he wanted to see over me/he was jealous (he was average height though?), or if that was his passive-aggressive way of portraying his everlasting love for me...I dunno. :blobsmilehappyeyes: heh.
That one just left me confused and wondering what made him think I was a dumbass and why he thought I was a...'hunk'? :hmm: (I'm not skin and bones or 'built', but am rather mistaken for a street lamp).:blobsad:

    I'll never know...

I joined this, one, cram school. There a bunch of boys called me, "Grandma". I don't know why? I wanted to curse them but I ignored and acted indifferent.
(XD this one was particularly funny!!!)

I forgot about that- Imma add it right now darlin.

And I love those stories~ And I also learned it's actually good to play it off and pretend you don't know, since it deters the bully's want for a reaction. :blobdog:

    *pat pat* :blob_patpat:
I can't believe some people tell others to die as a serious remark...:blobnobully: it's just pathetic honestly, and imo no one should ever really wish death onto someone. Especially for silly reasons like that.

A kid once called me a ‘kookoo banana face’, whatever the hell that means. She was pretty young so I don’t take it to heart but what was the point of that name? I just don’t get it :blobsweat_2:

Mine was from my older sister, I think it translates to some thing along the lines of 'fucking whore bitch go eat the ass of a prostitute' I think the first time it was over something dumb like a plate of leftover potatoes...

I think the issue is that you have too positive of a self-image.

I don't remember being offended by insults to me before, since most likely I have insulted myself even worse earlier.

I mean, I'm a total loser that can only survive due to the pity of my employer.

If this was a hunter gatherer society, I'd be the tribe's number one bear bait.

The only times I recall being angry has been when someone else has been insulted or treated badly, a promise I've made to someone else has been forced to be broken, or I'm being unilaterally complained to without any attempt to listen what I say.

Not really an insult but just blatant hostilit, kinda.

Back in 9th grade, a gay classmate of mine indirectly stated that he hates me during our year-end party, infront of the whole class.

We're not really familiar with each other so I have no idea why he hates me. I'm quite introverted and it was the first time I experience something like this so I just pretended I didn't hear anything and just focused on my phone. While our classmates just kept on glancing on either of us trying to figure out the beef between us. I would like to know too tbh.

Later that day, I spent my entire time recalling. What I did and my interactions with him prior to that day. Which further confuses me since I found nothing that would've cause him to hate me, my interactions with him are just brief and are school related like: what's the next subject? do we have assignments? which are all asked by him.

My drama teacher once called me a coward for not standing up to perform in front of the entire class. I have severe stage fright. To this day, it hurts... :blob_teary:

Okay, not really, but that did make me feel even more insecure than I already was. I laughed it off but deep down, I knew that what he said was partially true and that's probably why it kinda hurt.

This has happened a lot, and it hurts the most when it comes from the closest people. For example, when my aunt told my mother that I seemed to like singing like my younger sister (who'd participated in several singing contests), my mother said, "No way, can she even sing?" Even my aunt looked awkward hearing that response.

Or when my eldest sister (who was overweight) was getting married and we visited a relative to break the news, my mother made a comment that basically said, "Yeah, it's surprising that someone actually wants to marry her!" I don't particularly like my sister (because our personality simply doesn't match), but even I felt offended when she said that.

The two incidents happened a few years ago, but the pain still remains.

    Karen's Window ;-;
Now that I look back on it, it was a really dumb insult . I ended up telling them that if I was a window, they were a shattered version of me. They ended up just saying that the window that was described was supposed to be broken, but wasn't mentioned. It honestly deserved the "Worst Comeback of all Time" award, it didn't help that they stuttered at the beginning of the sentence, and it was said in front of the entire "after school program". They stopped calling me that soon after. (It was just a place to do homework, and supposed to be for kids whose parents were at work and wouldn't be able to pick their kids up at 2:10, but I was there because all my friends were there and I was a lonely creature at home. Keep in mind that I was called that in a program I was during 2017-2019).

It sucks more when it's someone close to you.

I've learned, 'Ignore what the people you don't care about have to say to you, and care about the words of those you hold close,'
"You don't know me, why should I be insulted by you and care what you have to say? I wake up every day and my worst enemy is my mirror."

So when someone you love says something (especially if they mean it...) it's like a slap in the face. :blobsad:

Most of the time I don't really know if the person is insulting me or just agreeing to my statement since it's not an infrequent occurrence for me to talk self-deprecatingly lol. But when I do I don't really care much unless I'm feeling particularly emotional that day www.

"Your face is pornography!" said a classmate back when Ai-chan studied at an all girls high school.

Actually what happened was, Ai-chan asked why her name sounded like a pornstar's name. In exchange, she said Ai-chan's face is pornography.

Come to think of it, another person said something similar, but Ai-chan can't recall the circumstance to that. It was another classmate.
