Discussion Does this happen to anyone else?

I just was wondering if this happens to anyone else.
Ok. Here’s the thing. When I read a novel, manga or an anime. There are awkward romantic points where I find myself having a desperate need to stop. It’s like my heart can’t take it. So I have to stop. Sometimes I wait a few minutes or days until I feel I’m ready to try again.
Am I the only one who does this?

 

there are also moments when I'm too embarassed for the protag that I can't watch anymore

 

Those are the times I wanna keep reading non-stop and mess up my sleep schedule to keep reading! xD

 

same except that i completely forget about it and end up starting other novels, only to stop for similar reasons it's a tragedy

 

yup ill have to stop for a while if it gets cringe inducing.

 

I'll stop for a few minutes if it's too cringe worthy or embarrassing. I must gain thicker skin.

 

...too fluff.
I can read absolute wild stories with a straight face but when it comes to fluff.
I-.. I will be running circling around my room just because of their hands coming contact with eachother.

 

There was a time when I got so overwhelmed to the point of crying~
Was shivering and shaking!
Had to wait for time to pass to come back to myself~^^

 

Yes, this used to happen all the time for me. Now it happens rarely.

 

There were times when I have to stop reading that part because it's too much awkward. And then reflect myself then continue reading~┌(・。・)┘♪

 

If it's too cringey, sometimes.
But if it's on those moments where the romance is reaching it's peak, I can't wait to finish, even if I have to sacrifice my sleep. And, sometimes, i tend to get a little bit... "emotional".
What can I say? Deep down, I'm a romantic slob.

 

I just drop them.

 

Yeah...

There are times when you were so immersed on it...and then there you are in the climax...and then have to stop because the embarrassment of the FL or the mc.

You know, it's not only in romance scene, but in everyday life of thenprotag as well..

Esp, when the protagonist is super dump.

I sometimes stopped and read other novels until I get over that part and could read it peacefully.

 

No but when I was rewatching The Office, there are some relationship lessons there I missed. I remembered my regrets and mistakes, thinking I've watched Office for the first time, before I made those mistakes, if only I was more like Jim and not my idiot self...
I also pulled trough Castle until Caskett finally shipped, normally I don't care about shipping but I was proud of this accomplishment!

 

Often times it's the big reveal on the romance genre or a major plot/milestone that gives me this feeling, the feeling of extreme excitement/anxiety etc. While leaving me panting maniacally. The likes of "I've been in love with you since the day that we've met" or "You're the most special one in my life"(while bleeding to death) to Khan's death from overgeared.

I thought you're talking about real life romance. In that case no. Rather i stopped and skipped if i cringed out. I see such awkward situations as rather wholesome tbh.

 

Let me say... I don't deal very well with second hand embarrassment.

I completely skip the awkward moment if I can but if not it takes me a while to get back to reading that.

 

I stop when it really hurts ...

 

The moment anime gets too real for the MC.
