Hello all. I know this a site mainly for Asian novels yes, however I just want to know if there a few novels, manga/manhua/webtoons or anime with a dark skinned/black MC. I've watched Cowboy Beep Bop too, it was amazing. I'd also take western works if ya'll know some. I think this request is allowed by forum rules but I'll delete it if it goes against them. Thank you.
There are a couple of Manga with black MCs like Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo. I have not found any KN novels with a black MC. I have run across a few CN novels with a black MC but they are racist.
Lol, i don't think bobobo can be considered black. He's like ditto who can transform anytime anywhere
You know a lot of the JP novels just describe their protagonist has average looking, with black hair and black eyes. They never really specify what color their skin is though, so hypothetically they could be black. Just don't pay attention to the cover art, illustration aren't canon.
Actually, that's not a bad idea. But no, later they'll come across a person who's black and the novel will specifically highlight it as a rare feature/trait in whatever world the MC's in.

Can't argue with that, most of them are happy go lucky power fantasy with harem style. As for the recommendation, though I'm sick of villainess novels I'll try it if I'm bored.

Yeah sometimes the narrative will trip you up, but you've just got to hard deny it. In the end it is only a few sentences, and once you've got passed them you can go back to imagining what you want. Anyway aside from pretending maybe you should try looking at original novels, like stuff on Royalroadl or Scribblehub. I remember reading one where a black guy was evolved in a hero summoning, trigger warning it goes really heavy into the racism and discrimination troupes.

Let me think on this…Moshi Fanren is a manhua with multiple supporting Black characters, but not the MC. The male lead of Brainless Witch is dark skinned. There is a shojo manhwa with a dark-skinned female lead that I keep meaning to read, but I can’t remember the title. I will update if I find it, but it’s out there!! I’ll keep trying to think of more.
You can do it, I once had to read a story where the main love interest had the same name as my sister. Forcing myself to read the name as completely different name every single time it came up was super annoying.
