Lark is so shocked and pours praises that how cute she looks and apologizes but Navia doesn't turn back. He acts like his body is cracking again ( side effect of his power,) and Navia gets scared and runs to him cried when she found out he was pretending. Lark is even more scared as she was crying and hugs her tightly and constantly apologises to her and says that she can hit him to swear at him and he'll promise her anything but not to cry. Navia calms down and they joke again and have lunch Not much about romance cuz I'm at chapter 160 and they're still kids. But it's a lot fun after lark found it that she's his daughter. We get a lot of father daughter moments.

He little by little opened upto her. He decided to adopt her though she said she was a commoner. He nearly killed therban ( lark's cousin or sibling not sure who was planning to take over esseled and make his daughter empress) because he slapped Navia on the cheek
