During Maxi's first encounter with Richt Bleston, another knight commander from Balto [?] When Maxi was caught disguising as a priestess and she had no choice but to follow Riftan, was that in Livadon, Eth-lene [?] He was barbaric and very rude. He insulted Riftan by mocking Maxi's stuttering, Yuri was with her. Riftan saw this and got insanely murderous that time and charged at him. The two almost started a duel then Agnes intervened but she wasnt able to do anything about it. She turned to Maxi, pleading to stop RIftan, and Maxi was able to stop Riftan before bloodshed. I forgot what chapter in Book 1.
After reading some of spoilers here, I guess this story has the potential to be developed into a wider plot. I even have this mental image of Riftan eventually will surpass Whedon Kingdom's power and built his own Empire along with his own personality development. Not sure if the oak tree thingy will be revealed in book 2 or the author will continue to wider the plot and prolonged the story into book 3, 4, 5 (my greedy wish ) . Because there still many unsolved mystery within the story, like Ruth's reason fleeing away from tower of wizard, Kuahel/Riftan as the reincarnation of that Uigur guy, who is Riftan's dad, is he really only human, etc. In my opinion, the author also can make other story with Rosetta as the main character. She also is broken but I think Rosetta handled the situation differently than her sister. Or potentially, other character as the main character. (mind that I haven't finished book one yet, because you guys said about the writer on hiatus, so I read it bit by bit, because I can't stand cliffhangers )
This is really well observed. I'm a sucker for the trope of couples reincarnated to find each other again. Maxi and Riftan are just the sweetest together. I pray that the series does end with a happy ending with Maxi and Riftan together with a family.
WOW! This is good writing. The birthday surprise is really a surprise. I lol with the side comment on the servants. The rock garden… how I wish to see it in the main story… or anything that will trigger Maxi to remember her childhood encounters with Riftan, and Riftan confessing it was him
same, im just gonna catch up after a few months because the waiting game is killing me. we wait 10 days for a chpater than we can read in under 10 minutes. its frustrating. or maybe its just because i prefer marathoning or binging in general. so to kill time, im just lurking around this forum and in discord (and sometimes in the LNH comment section ) to keep me going. i fear to lose interest in this novel due to my short attention span but so far, its going great because our community is so engaging. now im deliberating whether to start reading a new book or just abstain for a while just so it wouldn't disrupt my interest and infatuation in oak.
I had some thought. Since Riftan beat Sejour Aren and Kuahel Leon in a duel, Richt is the last for him to beat to actually really be the reincarnation of Uigru maybe. If I’m not mistaken, you have to beat another best knight to be the best knight so it would make sense that he has to beat Richt Bleston to actually gain that title of Uigru. And about Riftan’s father, since he is a knight, that means Riftan probably inherited his skill set from his father? If he really did, then why isn’t his father well-known? Is Calypse his father’s surname or mother’s surname? (I’m not sure if I missed this) Why did his father not marry his mother? It seems strange to me that Riftan is so attached to Maxi, but does that reflect his mother or father? If it reflects his father then why would he leave her that way? So many unanswered questions.
I like that fact that you called Remdragon Knignts "Daddies" Lol, I mean they are!! i believe aside from Riftan, all our fave Remdragon Knights also all have good looks, great warriors, i mean RDK is like special task force or SWAT team kind of stuffs due to their renowned capabilities. I just went back to read Riftan POV where Riftan's boss at that time 'force' him to attend the Duke banquet party (where he met Maxi for the first time after 10 years), and he offered Hebaron to replace him instead, since he didn't like to attend banquet. And Riftan's boss was like "you know, Hebaron almost gotten me into policital war due to flirting with married woman in front of her noble husband" and then Riftan's boss was like "I ain't let Hebaron step anywhere near the banquet hall!". Our boy Hebaron is so funny, playful and seems to have such soft spot for beautiful women Lol. Elliot, Gable, Yurixion, Garrow, all are polite and kindhearted gentlemen. Uslin as well, i never hated Uslin on how he treated Maxi, since i knew it also because he didn't know the truth yet at that time, and kind of misunderstood Maxi. Uslin basically kind, he just has different personality than Hebaron, he is more reserved/formal while Hebaron is more playful, i mean Hebaron is literaly papa bear lol. I like to see more interaction between Maxi and our Remdragon knight daddies, i can't imagine once Maxi and Riftan have a baby girl, wonder she will be super spoiled by all our Remdragon knight daddies

Calypse is a name that was given to him during his mercenary days (someone explain it in this forum, i forgot which page). If im not mistaken, his mother was a maid. Probably his mother fall in love with a knight who just wanted to play around for a few months
I can’t imagine if Maxi gets pregnant either, all of the RDK knights would probably line up to offer to become her escort. Probably be holding her hands to walk down the staircase and bring food to her wherever she goes. I can’t imagine if her water broke while she’s around the RDK daddies and then going crazy and panicking. I can just imagine them being overly caring and keep on checking up on her whenever Riftan isn’t guarding. I reaaaally hope this happens, it would be so cute. Not to mention what if the knights actually offer their geth to her daughter/daughters. If she had son/sons, they would train together. Riftan beat Sejour Aren in a swords competition 6 years ago and had a duel with Kuahel Leon during the Red Dragon Subjugation. But it’s strange that he’s so OP, I mean he became a mercenary when he was 12/13 like excuse me son?
i love how we all collectively want maxi to give riftan head the man needs some lovin' #letmaxiblow2021 Spoiler: why Riftan's last name is "Calypse" from what i read from a discord server, Riftan did not use his father or stepfather's last name since he disowned his original father for abandoning them and he was too ashamed to use his stepfather's name because he ran away. "Calypse" was a nickname/pseudonym/last name Riftan used as a mercenary since last names are important. "Calypse" vaguely means steel or a sword. last names indicate family or a lineage, and since Riftan never regarded someone else as his family he must've meant: "this sword will protect me, feed me, and provide for me. therefore, this sword is my only family" which is why he chose Calypse this explanation was kind of sad
Then after he got married to Maxi. He said “You are my only family.” I just want my babies to both have a peaceful and happy life in the end.
Ah yeah now i remember, Gabel shared the story of the duel with kuahel during maxi's first dinner with the RDK. Can you spoil the duel with sejour aren? Riftan said once to maxi, his body is different than the others. When he was 12, he doesnt look like he was 12. Maybe thats why he was able to join the mercenary. Remember when Ruth was shocked to the core when riftan said he is 16?
I'm not sure if I understand the context of Uigru, is it the title for the strongest knight or it is a name of a hero who fall in love with the nypmh? And I bet Riftan will eventually beat this Richt guy in the future. He is so OP I seconded with you about Riftan's father. I don't know if I skip it, but is the story include Southern Continent which is his father origin? The author didn't/hasn't explain how the Southern Continent people looks like, I mean in the terms of physical power not in physical appearance (since I read here somewhere in this forum that the author portrayed Southern Continent people have Arabian features). If they are genetically powerful it'll explain a lot about him. But another thing bothering me is the fact that Riftan barely sleeping in the night yet still so powerful. I think he finally be able to sleep peacefully only once or twice after he married Max.
That’s what I’m saying, it’s not normal. 12 years old!!! In a mercenary, I am shooketh. The duel with Sejour Aren well, there’s not much to spoil, Sejour said so himself that he was proud to become a knight back then and was embarrassed when he got his ass kicked and sort of said awful things about him or something (he didn’t mention what he said) but he came to admire Riftan after that and considers him a friend.
I like how she shuts up and acknowledged how her near death at the end of the first war traumatized him. She was unconscious and didn’t really have to face the miscarriage til after the fact. But it affects him so much that I can’t help but wonder how much he suffered on his own. Like, did he see and hold his potential child? Imagine going through that all the while not knowing if you’re going to lose your wife as well. I love Maxi but can understand why some readers don’t like her self centered ways.
