For me there are only two options. Tastes bad or Tastes like food. I just can't bring myself to say "IT'S DELICOUS" Delectable or any of those words. Wondering if its just me.

Depends ~ If the food is really delish, I will say it's delish, but if it's normal or bad, I will say it's normal or it's bad

Maybe you should try fasting for a day, and eat sumptuous food, maybe you can get the "delicious" taste
As saying goes, hunger is the best sauce

I'll say "it tastes good/great/amazing" or "I don't like it, it's too [blank]"

It's fine and It's good means that the food is alright. Not great but not bad either. Usually the generic answer unless the food is especially leaning towards one side.

Most of the time, same, but sometimes I eat something like chocolate and there's just something different, it feels like heaven. So yea, I guess occasionally I do have those moments.

my answer most of the time is "good".

If my food tasted bad you will know because I will not only tell you it's bad you will learn to cook what you tried to make from me.

I won't allow blasphemy on the table. (bad food)

I’ve never had something like a japanese “Umai!” moment before, I’ve seen them say that whether it be in novels or IRL. Then again, I eat to live, not live to eat. I’m a gluttonous person too, so I fear the day I find something delicious.

When I was in college, everyone hated the food at the dining halls because they tasted bland. But I didn't really care. Whenever anyone asked how I could stand to eat such food, I simply replied, "It's food." Whenever someone asked how something on the menu tasted, I simply replied, "Like nutrients." To me, food ceased to be a culture a long, long time ago. Now, it's simply nothing more than a task I am required to do to ensure my continued survival.

In short, college dining is a form of purgatory I never got away from :blobawkward:

    Depends who asks.

People I am honest with: Okay, subpar

The restaurant staff: Okay for everything.

I have a friend who feelz that way about every food aside from pastries. No idea why food is generally so bland for him. for me, i think I am pretty normal : some food is delicious, some is bland, some is inedible. I had covid ajd lost my taste for awhile and I pretty much starved bcuz how bland or nasty everything tasted.

I just say "it's alright/good" or "mmm". Sometimes just don't respond and just focus and quickly finishing the food.

I usually always say that it's good.

The only exceptions are if I'm together with some friends in a restaurant and we're all badmouthing the food, then I'll join in the badmouthing train. Otherwise I'll always praise the food regardless of my actual opinion.

    When i was little,
You would answer based on how good the food is.

    As you grow up,
You would answer based on who cooked the food and wether the person is with you or not.

I provide enough honesty to meet the needs of courtesy (so if I don't like it try to avoid actually having any, if I have to I pretend it's "ok", either way I have my actual meal when I get home), which does mean that if I really like something (there have been some restaurants I've been taken to where the food was magnificent, or at least spicy [& if it's too hot for me to eat, that is probably the highest praise I've given, 'cos it was also magnificent, it just took me like an hour to get through my plate]).
