I've been reading a lot of Chinese novels, and only recently realized that I love Chinese romance because it's heavily censored and has less sex-centered relationships. Especially GL/BL novels, many of which have only 2-3 vaguely-described scenes and most of the plot is centered around relationship and not "sexual tension".

But now I kind of want to read novels that have asexual main characters, can anyone recommend some?

EDIT: I know every tag that provides romance novels without bed scenes, but thanks for suggestions. Right now, I only want to read a romance novel with MC who is either asexual or displaying traits of asexual without calling it that.

I know novels that have main characters who seem to be asexual but I don't think there's any that falls in the romance category imo. Those are kinda like two opposing things.

Maybe you can try kids romance or something? I know there was a manga called Love is Still Too Early for Himeichi-chan which doesn't have any of that "sexual tension" because the main characters are kids who don't even understand that sort of stuff.

Nothing comes to mind (except a vague memory of a weirdo mc of a survival game but I don't remember the name)
there must be a tag for asexual MC (nope, didn't find but the apathetic protagonist tag might work)

You may try explore the slow romance tag, I have a light memory of some novels in this category that may fit you :blobmelt:

Now that I think of it, I Ran Away after being Forced Into a Love Polygon should work. MC is very numb to emotion but slowly creates relationships with people and he remains uninterested in sex

I have read dozens with that tag, and I loved many of them, but this time I'm looking specifically for asexual MCs.

Are you confusing asexual and aromantic? Asexual is the opposite of porn, but not opposing to romance at all.

Thanks, but as I mentioned in the first post, I already read romance that has no sexual tension. So I don't need any recommendations on that point. Only asexual MCs. I just want to read about someone who is like me. Not little kids.

That title... I have skipped this novel because of it's title... and now you're telling me it's the closest thing to what I'm searching for??? Excuse me, I need to go smack my past self on the head.

I don't think I've seen any with a character that's strictly asexual. Not counting those protagonists who at first say they're not interested but ended up ensnared by their love interests
Because "asexual" is different from "no sexual behavior", when the book has no sexual hint, it's probably because the relationship hasn't reach that point yet. But we can't be sure? Unless the characters explicitly talk about being asexual, in that case you'd have better luck searching among western books. I know I probably just haven't read that much but in Chinese webnovels I've seen simply don't go deep into these matters, other than homosexuality and in a few, transsexuality
I have one title in mind, but yeah it's just no sexual tension with very little romance simply because it's not the focus of the story

Yeah, and I have noticed that there are no bisexual MC's either? Or just so little that I never saw one. Even though majority of straight-to-bent MC's should be Bi, but Chinese writers conveniently forget that term when it comes to main characters.

Well, I just asked in case there is one or two because I was curios. I know that the chances are slim.

Yes!!! Seems like authors just forget that besides straight and homo, people can also be bi and have never discovered this side of themselves before. :blobpopcorn_two:

I have the same impressions, the closest to asexual relationship that I have seen in novels is the devotional one, when the ML had a huge traumatized period of his life and just find "salvation" into the MC. (But of course it is not really a asexual relationship.)

I've seen a few bi characters, they're... all cheating MLs :blobwoah:
It depends on the culture itself, in some places romance books only have het relationships because the people there aren't aware and/or aren't very accepting of any other, so it's less talked about, less market, less authors want to write about it nor even gets inspirations to write about it in the first place.
Would authors write and share something that no one would read? Even when the answer is yes, because no one reads it, it gets little to no exposure that no one can find it at all

But I did some more searching around and found these titles,
    给柏拉图献花[娱乐圈]
    一次性男孩
    望美人兮长颈鹿
Though I can't make sure, I hadn't had the time to read

It's the same with me. I also can't stand smut. I dropped Mo Dao Zhu Shi at chapter 10 because I saw the Bichen excerpt on twitter and I was..... shook:sweating_profusely:
