Still... it makes me curious if there WAS the possibility Hannah will die next manhwa chapter, why had they still proceeded to Forun where they met the smiling, bloody finger, red head (probable king)
Man, the most pitiful character is her mother. First raped while young, had to raise her child alone, married a nice man, but he got killed and she and her daughter kidnapped by the emperor. Then caged in the palace, later jailed for killing the emperor's son who wanted to rape her daughter. Next tortured and ultimately killed. Can't the woman have a break?!??
I don't get it for the part she was raped when she's young, at the manhwa, she's say smth like actually she and the bio father of the MC are love each other or have a relationship but somehow the bio father of the MC left her.. So which one is true?
If i remember correctly, she said that to Cassia when Cassia was a young girl, so she could've lied there since she didn't want younger cassia to be depressed and felt she was too young to know the truth.

We finally meet Prince Cesar Al Kun. Weirded out since I keep reading his surname as a suffix. Random tidbit, I dunno for whatever reason, but I'm honestly VERY happy we got novel artist=manhwa artist. Still ch.1 has MC mention Deon escorted him at some point. There were also hints on one of the antagonists' to have escaped (which was more likely to be Daniel instead of his mother, though it would be refreshing if it was the 2nd consort who escaped. Completely powerless except for her cunning trait, probably meeting the dragon big bad thinking she could manipulate it only to be used as a plot device to make MC miserable and have the OGplot be back on-track. I'm honestly confused about one thing, Miss Murphy is MCs what again? Tutor? Lady-in-waiting (completely different to maid?). She isn't the head maid the 2nd consort killed, isn't she? I mean, we still see Madam Murphy at the present timeline but we know she didn't follow MC. Also, all this flashback, is just a total of 1 year so far, correct? Honestly, I might as well ask the same question again and at my comment. Still confused at 2nd consort's hostility to MC and Hannah, assuming her excuse was legit. Emperor's favor? That's all? The woman was about to be sent to slavery! Even if she escapes, she has royal blood on her hands. Plus, Cassia is a woman, she cannot inherently take the throne esp. with her commoner bg. At most, an advantageous marriage at least, where her looks could've been used. Even then, her role was a hostage. Oh, and the emperor is physically sick.

Clarifications from the webtoon - not webnovel spoilers, since people are so confused: >Hannah's fate - yes, she was stabbed by Daniel (2nd prince, the weak milquetoast, son of the 2nd concubine), but he did so with his hand & used magic instead of a blade. His target was originally MC (Cassia) but considering his personality, he most likely did not plan on actually going through with it & that's why Hannah (who pushed MC away) was not killed instantly AND also why he lied to his mom about killing MC. So currently - Hannah is alive for now, just in a pseudo-dead state. Speaking of which - considering his personality & the sheer trauma he's been put through (not to mention the body count that his mom insisted that he's to blame for), even if MC & co. spare him, he'd probably just want to die out of sheer guilt. I'm not entirely sure about 2nd Concubine's endgame because she seems like she's doing that thing that Medusa from Soul Eater did - forcing her gentle son to kill & kill until he grows to hate & kill her & becomes totally powerful & heartless as a result. As to why she hates MC's mom so much - it's pretty obvious: because Hannah is an easy target. She can't do much to the 1st concubine (other than getting her son killed unintentionally via the whole "have Crown Prince rape MC" plot) or Empress. She's very clearly an insane and emotionally driven person. She abuses & gaslights her own son because she knows that he can't fight back. On the plus side: taking out Hannah+MC also means indirectly harming Deon since her intel confirmed that MC is important to Deon in some way. The assassination plot is near perfect anyway - who would believe that she sent her own SON to a battlefield in the desert to murder a slave? (Plus she was probably betting on the fact that nobody would be alive to point fingers at her). MC's sleepwalking - now the confusion here is people calling this a disease. It is NOT. It's pretty obvious that it is a mental illness. Hannah started sleepwalking only after she & MC were forced into the palace (even when she was working as a single mom, MC did not mention her sleepwalking before). What caused Hannah's sleepwalking: stress/trauma/guilt from >the rape(?) resulting in MC's birth >MC's bio dad betraying & leaving her >Hannah's beauty indirectly causing the downfall of the Viscount's family & the death of her new husband >MC being used as a hostage & being trapped with her in a place where everyone hates them or wants them dead Her sleepwalking worsened when MC told her that she couldn't do anything to help her & the trek to the pond implies that Hannah wished to kill herself, believing that she's a burden on people. Now for MC's sleepwalking: For people who have to take care of their parents suffering from a mental illness, such as dementia, paranoia, hoarding - it is very likely that they will also suffer from the same mental illness later on. MC, in the webtoon, is repeatedly shown to think that she HAS to be happy now, she CAN'T be greedy & she IS utterly insignificant in the long run as nobody will care about the truth that she & her mother were victims of the Emperor & his concubines. Hannah sacrificed so much so that MC could live. She feels immense guilt/pressure over her inability to actually BE happy & she was never able to properly grieve over the loss of her stepfamily (the Viscount & his parents), the trauma (dealing with the Emperor's sickening favor for her, the Crown Prince's attempted rape, seeing her mom BEAT the Crown Prince to death in front of her, the whole trial, etc.). She absolutely refuses to be vulnerable in front of anyone except Madam Murphy* & feels that if she could just leave everything about the Imperial Palace life behind (including Madam Murphy), she can pretend that nothing bad has ever happened & she can be "happy". But that is not how the human brain works, so that is why MC sleepwalks, messes up her sewing supplies & reaches out to the doll - the object of "greed" that she thinks caused problems for Hannah. (No request for doll = Hannah sleepwalks instead of making the doll = MC gets raped & Hannah is never charged for murder). The others do not bring it up for the same reason that MC never brought up Hannah's sleepwalking - the person themself will deny the event ever happening & will not believe that they are mentally ill.
