If you get transported or reincarnated,(you have the knowledge of all current tech) what technology would you introduce or improve? Edit:Further explanation. By knowledge I do mean the person know how to make the technology and every prerequisite. If they have access to the raw resources they can make every technology. They can make a car and the prerequisites for a car(engine, metallurgy, thermodynamics, rubber , wheel, processed oil ,etc) All is left are the raw materials.
depending on the setting I get transported to, I guess I'll introduce them to a classic. It's called a bomb. Will be useful for when people are in war or so. If I get transported into the future, I'll just sit back and enjoy.
I'll introduce the wheel and set the wheels of progress in motion. Why something so rudimentary, you ask? Because tho I may be acquainted with a lot of modern tech, I don't have much idea about their inner workings or how to recreate them especially without the requisite infrastructure in place. So they better send me waay waaay back if they want me to be useful.
At first I thought of the internet but then I think depending on the time I might have been killed for speaking of such a thing. Also I would need electricity, a phone or some time of computer.
None. Need to know first what sort of "tech" available, how high they were & how they achieve it (don't wanna risk to be burned at stake like in Medieval times or goes into something like Salem's trials/Witch Hunt (^^i)) plus the available resources. At most, I probably just improved them i/o introduced "new" ones I think you need to introduce gunpowder first before the guns, which exactly what I gonna do if I were in your shoes. Not to mention how to process the necessary metals, how to stamp/cast them into one plus the primer for the bullets
Uhh food? I like savory dishes and desserts. I would miss fridges, toilets, the internet, etc. but food is numero uno
Planet killers in Green Lantern. Atomic bombs and its lesser brothers do not yield enough carnage. I know OP asks for current tech, but I don't want to grant them water purification and piping to each household to the "medieval times" (cuz trend...), I want to see how many idiots out there are capable and willing to cause wanton sufferings just for personal gains.
It depends. Location (By the sea. A salt farm. By a river. A water mill for flour. Mountain. A Bessemer plant.) Population ( Farmers. A McCormick reaper. Nobels. Cloth or cosmetics. Scholars. Paper. Blacksmith. Water powered trip hammers. Masons. Cement. Carpenter. Sawmill. Solider. Guns. Inn. Open concept. Restaurant. Otherworldly food. Sailor. Cement ships. Just to name a few). Resources will dictate possible technology (iron, copper, limestone, coal, oil, quicksilver, mercury, timber, sand, clay, sulfur, lye, tar, spices and etc). That’s just off the top of my head
Nothing. I don't think I'm smart enough or wise enough to consider history in my league, so I won't fuck with it
Look like all these people above knows all about metals, their properties, refining and where to find them. But you can get by and may become rich if you have a decent knowledge of maths and commerce. IF NOT DON'T EXPECT THIS:
Fun fact, almost none, you need preexisting tech in order to make current tools/weapons/items/tech. Wanna make a gun ? heh, you`re gonna need a precision lathe , to make that you`re gonna need steel, and so on, even if you tell me today how to make a hyper efficient anti-matter reactor, it'll take at least decades if not more, in order to make tech to be able to build it.
I would love to venture out for foods and recipes. Probably introduce more cooking methods, hygience and nutrition. I cant really introduce mechanical stuff, I am dumb
