So, if you aren't planning on having children at all or don't think that having them is important, this question is not for you.
If you do want to have children, here's the scenario:
You have terrible genes. Like, if you have a child, it's 90% certain that it's going to have some kinds of severe genetic defects. Like, born without limbs and with a life expectancy of 30 years tops severe. Modern science has no way of treating or preventing this.
Would you still be willing to have a child, despite knowing that?
Would you, if the chances were 60% instead?
    40%?
    ... 1%?
    Edit: and you can't adopt

probably not. Its sad enough because dogs don't live long enough and i still give them the best life i can, but having my son die early and not be able to live a life of quality would be heartbreaking.

No. Playing genetic Russian Roulette would be shitty to your child and yourself plus partner/family.

That's way having a harem is a must, from ten wives there should be 1 child who is born healthy. The family will raise the healthy child together with the imperfect sibling (only in body). Healthy child will learn true love and when grow bigger will protect the sibling from bullying.
Have you seen group of healthy kids bullying the imperfect one, having a perfect body doesn't mean also having a good heart

No, I would not. Why would I bring them to this world just to suffer? It might be harsh to say this, but I think that is just plain cruel and selfish.

Yes, because my mom only has one child - me, and mom wants grandkids, so I'll take my chances and hope for the other 10%. I'll take my chances with 99% too and hope for the other 1%, but if it's 100% certain kid won't be healthy, I'll apologize to mom for not giving her grandkids.
I'll hire a specialized tutor for kid to maximize kid's potential as soon as possible to accomplish something despite limitations. obviously public schooling would be too harsh.
how about 20 years later? maybe when my kid becomes a legal adult, kid can get it treated.
I think you got your math wrong, that would mean 1 healthy child, but 9 unhealthy children.

Most likely no. But then again, your kids will always be a genetic russian roulette, no matter how healthy you are.

At least if you know about it. I don't think this scenario is particularly realistic though.

If I was aware of it and believed it to be true that my child(ren) would be likely to be born with serious defects, then no I wouldn't want to have a child, because that would just be cruel to both the child(ren) and parents.

Nope... I guess I wouldn't after all even though I want 3 QAQ

    1%, I'd risk it. 40% and 60%, maybe. 90%, no.

If the risk is too high, Ai-chan wouldn't. It would be like knowing you have HIV and still choose to have children anyway. It's too bad, but at that point it's the selfless thing to let go of your right to make children.

Depend on the condition of the diseases.
Without limb or physical disorder only, then it's fine imo.
If the age limitation can only up to certain age, but what about their daily life? Can they still live freely? Breath freely? Eat freely? If they can, why not?
Even now, people might die under 30 or 20.
But if they cannot breath freely, can only stay in bed half their life, cannot do anything as they like it. I'd not want my children to live such life. And if it's me as the child, I'd not want to drag those that love me to put their foot into the coffin work to death just to let me stay in hospital half my life.
But, I'm not a parent, those are all my opinion as a child.
