Recommendations Worth to Read Chinese Novels

Hello!
I like Japanese and Korean novels, but I don't feel the same with Chinese novels.
I have tried to read some CN before, but I just stopped after a few chapters.
Riding a flying sword was very weird to me and I could not simply relate. I've noticed that most of the readers here really read them too, and want to dismiss this bias within me.

So I would like to read some CN novels that will make me read more CN novels in the future. What is the best novel you can give?

Modern setting is more preferable.

Anything at all except: Wuxia, Xianxia.

Edit: Oooops, maybe Xuanhuan is okay.

Xianxia is full of Flying Sword, you might want to give Xuanhuan a chance since it's mixed or just Western Fantasy written in Chinese.

LOTM basically is the best chinese translated novel right now imo

 

Just to add a different suggestion from what are being recommended, not all Chinese novels are eastern fantasy.

Crazy Detective and
Genius Detective - for some mystery. The former has more Chinese elements in it.

Transmigrated into a Parvenu’s Ex-wife in the ‘90s - Pretty good novel, title explains it pretty much. Competent female MC caring for her children.

After Transmigrating Into the Cultivation World, the School Topper Was Reborn - Very very mild cultivation elements. Basically MC comes back from a Xianxia world into her old body in high school. (Doesn't really have anything to do with cultivation except for brief mentions)

Superstars of Tomorrow - Composer MC reborn in a futuristic world. (Highly recommended)

Losing Money to Be a Tycoon - A pretty funny read though it gets kinda repetitive later on.

I tried to think of ones that are gentle in terms of Chinese elements and slowly introduce you to them.

Do bear with the quality of the translation and the pace of the story at the beginning, both of them get better as the chapter goes.

You can also try 48 Hours a Day, it is set in the modern world and it does not have any Xianxia or Wuxia elements either.
