ever since the last couple of gems have finished translating, i've noticed that Qidian is no longer translating as much / translations are now just trash compared to how they used to, Now the site is filled up with "original" novels. I've also been checking out their new section but all i got were some trash novels that barely have anything worth reading. i've checked qidian chinese site and some authors who had great stories translated have new books now and are in the top 10 rankings in china, but so far none of them have been selected by Qidian... Anyone know whats up with that?
Well, it's much cheaper for them to let people post their novels than paying translators to translate novels. The scene is just not as robust as it was (meaning fewer readers than before) and there are a ton of novels out there already for people to read.
Paywall, it's a natural repellent that works on reader (that want to read it free) and translator So, no translator = no new novel
Yeah, But would you want to read trash novels, cause thats exactly what they're still trying to do. None of the top 10 novel rankings in qidian China are in webnovel. Except for Lord of the mysteries, The others arent there
That's why I follow the translator, not the host. I don't want to waste time diving through trash to find some okay, good enough to pass time novels then drop it halfway. There are some good OG novels rn though, I'm currently following Supreme Magus and The Oracle Paths.
You should change to reading to Raws man. A lot of great content! But I agree, the quality has been dropping recently. It's hard to tell if it's legit or rewritten by Translators.. Especially those with bad English Names lol.
