    He comes out of the stone for their last war almost at the end of the novel.

    Last antagonist is A.I., when A.I. has their own idea and want to be free from human. Somehow they has some item like robot chip which they can control ALL human in the stronghold. RX and others fighting against them.

    For your latter question is yes, he is.
