Both of them are in their 50s. I've nothing against people having baby at a late age. But c'mon, they'll be retired, old and quite possibly dead while their kid is still in his 20s.

Women can theoretically get pregnant and give birth till their menopause at 52-56 depending on luck and if there are no health issues resulting in early menopause.

Men can have kids into their 70s, it's common knowledge. Just that women having kids at 49 was surprising. I only knew of people who froze their eggs decades earlier and used surrogacy
