And do firemen really rescue them? I've never seen that, I can believe the former if some newb cat got scared of heights to climb down but not the latter. If 100 cats get stuck on trees, how many out of those are truly stuck and how many just don't wanna get down? I think we need a poll... Don't read the comments until you've voted
Well the issue is that it's really easy for most cats to climb up but really hard for them to get back down because of the structures of their claws. I'd say that at least half of cats "stuck" in treesare actually stuck
I remember that our cat climbed a tree in the garden once, really high and with confidence. But once she was high up, she couldn't find the way down anymore. So, 'mentally stuck' I guess.
To be fair, most just jump if they need to get back down. What we consider stuck is probably them just lording it over the humans in their favorite highest place nearby. Not sure if they can reverse when climbing up a trunk though.
Plot twist: they can actually get down on their own but prefer to look down on people and cause them trouble then get down on their own when the fireman/help comes XD
Usually no, but sometimes depends on the department/where you're at - You can search this on google, but a lot of firefighters don't because trees with branches can damage the firefighter/their ladders. there are some other services you can call depending on the location, so call those first , because firefighters aren't specialized in cat rescue.
Fireman won't usually go get cats down from frees. I've never heard of it happening. Though I know someone who said that the fire department came to help them get their cats out of in between their walls. And yes, cats do get stuck, all of my cats has managed to get stuck in really high trees. How do I know that they were stuck in the trees? They would just sit there, some would be sitting on a branch and others would be hanging on the trunk, meowing over and over again for hours. So then I would either have to climb up and get them, or they would jump down. One of my cats hurt bear paws doing this.. It is more common the first few times they climb up a trade til they learn.
eh on this cat place the cat run on roof to roof like a ninja~ those who stuck at tree perhaps amateur cat who rarely climb tree or newbie~ the cat can slide slowly descent the tree ya know~ other possibility the cat run so fast from something and newbie at climbing tree~ if your cat typical indoor cat then careful with the tree~ only see firefighter rescue cat on tv and mostly from western country~
They don't really. Cats can get 'stuck' in a tree but they are not really stuck as if they were, there would be a lot of feral cats up trees all over the place. They just haven't yet decided to bit the bullet and jump.
I don't know about cats stuck on trees, but I have seen pics of pandas that have climbed some seriously tall trees. As a fellow fatso, it made me so ashamed of myself . It also answered the age old question of how they became an endangered species.
You've forgotten something. Do the trees allow any of the cats to go down? By answering this can we tell if any of the cats are stuck at all.
They get scared of heights even when they can make the jump no problem. Technically not stuck but realistically very stuck because of fear. I had to pull a stray cat off of a roof twice. The second time she was up there for two days meowing. She was a little too high to reach properly so after many tries to do things the safer way, I grabbed the back of her neck and launched her off the roof. She landed fine and ran away, then ran back after I put away the ladder to thank me.
It comes from their ancestors since they lives in huge trees filled places they have to learn how to be good at jumping down and that's how their body works.
