Spoiler: Drinking ritual If I understand MTL correctly (hurts my head lol) it is a marriage ceremony from Fikar’s world. He actually gave her his soul so if Sumire dies, he’ll die too. And since he wanted to be the most special person in Sumire’s life, he hoped for her to give her soul too, but ya know, Earth doesn’t have anything like that. So they got married with a ring exchange and everything.
Ya, that sounds like a horrible clause. I can see it from a romantic perspective, but it is in no way practical as it leaves open to many disasters. (like parenting in general, as a death any time before the kids are independent adults means orphans).

I'm just as disappointed as you are but we have to face the facts that this might've just been a promotional adaptation to gain interest with the novel. Which was a shame. No wonder there wasn't any update on the raws past 12.3
