*ahem*Daenerys*ahem*Marimar*ahem* Why did the fans not see it coming? really, people not paying attention to the signs just because it is their favorite character and the victims are not so innocent and MORE importantly this is Game of Thrones (a Song of Ice and Fire) written by a guy that love inner conflicts and dislike black and white characters and they are not paying any attention if they think there is a they live happy ever after ending.
Definitely simple things that are not ridiculous or over the top. Ones that are considered actual names would be easier. For example, I would hope to never come across someone named 'Naruto', 'Scrooge', 'Maximus Prime', 'Gandalf', or *inhale* 'Jugemu Jugemu Gokō-no Surikire Kaijarisuigyo-no Suigyōmatsu Unraimatsu Fūraimatsu Kuunerutokoro-ni Sumutokoro Yaburakōji-no Burakōji Paipopaipo Paipo-no Shūringan Shūringan-no Gūrindai Gūrindai-no Ponpokopī-no Ponpokonā-no Chōkyūmei-no Chōsuke'. Or 'Karma'. There are just some things you can't name humans.
I am an English teach in Japan. One of my fellow english teachers worked at a school where there were a pair of siblings named, “Ichigo” and “Rukia”.
Alanna sounds like a nice name from the Song of the Lioness. Some characters have great existing names, some have cool epic names, but then there are other names from other fictional characters that don't sound too well depending on the place and culture..would the kid grow up one day and get teased by it? Sometimes we want the most unique or stand out name or whatever we think fit, but we should also think how it affects the kid down the road. Sometimes it stands out not in a good way.
I probably would name them after a favorite character. Currently, a favorite of mine is Valentine from Ender's Game. It's long. It sounds feminine. I love the character. It's perfect. I would never name a child after a character I hated though. For the longest time, I loved the name Anna... that is until I read Anna Karenina.
Not possible in my case. My favorite character's name is Accelerator. Think about it, will ya? Kid goes to school and introduces himself as Accelerator. Don't you think he will get beaten up?
Why yes! Of course I will name my future spawn after my favorite character! Let's go RX-78-2 Gundam! Jokes aside, betting on the astronomically miniscule chance that I have a kid in the future... probably not. Since that sounds cringy as hell, and probably something I will regret in the future... Both for me and the kid. Though Alex is probably fine. There's a Gundam named Alex and Alex is a pretty common name.
Sephiroth ..fang yuan aren't really school friendly names you know? I don't want them to be some trophies or merchandise of my fav characters
