So does the ML get his memories back at some point? Though it seems pointless at this point.

 

I haven’t finished the last book yet. I’m halfway thru and there is no sign of him recovering his memory as of yet.

 

Well what a fucked up story. These kind of stories makes me worried for authors sanity. The best happy ending everyone could hope for at this point is for MC to die, but that probably won't happen. At the very least I'm glad her child looks like the father instead of her, otherwise that kid might end up getting sexually assulted by their own father at some point when or if the mother dies.
In my own ending that I would make for this story, MC dies. But not by accident, nor by suicide but by the hands of ML.
The reason why I would like such an ending is because MC had countless opportunities to kill herself and end her suffering. But she did not do so, since her will to live is so strong. And after a person gets abused for such a long period of time, they starts to normalise the pain and even enjoy the abuse to retain their sanity as a coping mechanism; Stockholm syndrome.
The fact that MC wants to go back to ML now, even after all this must mean she is already a victim of Stockholm syndrome. Thus it's better if she passes away in the peak of her pleasure. As abuse takes a toll on her body each time it happens, it will break at some point. In this ending, MC eventually led her life to the best as she would see it and ML will hopefully have PTSD as she passes away.
And the child would at least be safe from sexual abuse by father because she/he doesn't look like the mother.

 

It matters not. PTSD is a real thing but I can see the writer just handwave it and call it true love triumph all like the Abandonded Empress did.

At least from another manhwa that I read, the PTSD is real and that is why the re-do MC won't be able to end up with his abuser/killer in 2nd life because she was mentally broken and her body rejects that every part of that guy and goes for another guy in the end.

 

THIS IS THE MOST FUCKED UP SHIT I HAVE EVER BEEN UNLUCKY ENOUGH TO HAVE COME ACROSS. THIS SHOULD BE RATED ZERO

 

From reading the spoilers here, I could understand why it got 3 stars.

First of all, the story starts off okay and it's quite enjoyable, but as I read the spoiler thread here, as the story progresses, it seems to turn into something that is definitely too disturbing for my preference. I just don't like this kind of plot. This is probably the main reason why the rating's low. Everyone in the story except for FL is crazy and toxic.

Second, the story telling is quite messy in my opinion. There are some parts in the chapter that felt unnecessary to me; like the flashback of FL's first night with the king in her previous life that was definitely not related to anything in the chapter. I would've understood the purpose of the flashback if there was something related to that topic in that chapter, but no. It's like the flashback is just there as a completely random TMI and to establish the novel's identity as an R-19 novel.

....So what I'm hearing is this is just torture porn with extra steps. I need to know the reason as to why she was even given a second chance. Because it's just god saying to her "listen, I'm gonna give you a second chance but you're gonna suffer ten times more then you did in your first life" Is there a lesson the god wants her to learn or something? Or the god is just a cruel sick bastard like the one in Youjo Senki just to prove a point?

When I saw that it had 3 stars I was really surprised, as the first spoilers said that the work was super funny, but what do you mean? by your spoilers ML is an insane motherfucker, perverted and every other bad adjective you can think of. You know, I try to put myself in the author's perspective, but I wonder where in the world is raping and holding someone in captivity considered romantic? Fuck, he completely spoiled a promising plot

I came here for the same reason but found out that this novel is different from the "I became an ugly duckling" manhwa LOL I was doubting and checked the 1st page of the forum and found thay the story is different...
