Does anyone here speak hindi??

I have questions.

First, what is the hindi female equivalent of “-sama” or “lady”. The closest I could find was Rani, but that means something closer to princess.

Second, (this is for a different person), would “Prabhu” be an acceptable term when refering to someone who is something like a holy warrior/ a person of the temple who by divine right has take up arms against evil?? The person in question is someone considered to be near the top of that diety's religious sect.

Define "Hindi". There are so many sub-dialects that it's mindboggling. Which variant are you referring to?

 

Rani means queen in Hindi.

In Hindi "-ji" is added to the end of names to give respect, but it is a more common word like -san. "kumari" is a more feminine version but it is not reserved for nobles or anything.

 

hind suffix r generally -ji no matter the gender to show repect.....
prabhu is an archaic term for master.....i dont think it is used in common language outside of the holy scripture.....

Wont Veer work for a warrior [ I think Prabhu is more like an emperor ]

 

i think Veer would be more in line of Champion.....Mahaveer is generally the champion of champions and could mean the hero....
emperor is Maharaj.....

 

Veerni is a female warrior. And Pavitr is holy.
Just veerni might be enough as a prefix to the person's name.

 

So, for example,

Aki Aki-kumari

 

at this point my only recommendation would be to watch those Mahabharat shows with the battle of the gods to get an idea of the terms you are looking for.....or maybe the Mughal dramas as well.....

kumari will come infront....its a title....come to think of it, i forgot how princes and princess' were called by the commoners.....

Oh, I was a bit vague. These are two different people. The second is about a “holy warrior” and he likes a girl. Said girl is the one from the first part.

 

Kumari (insert name) should be fine I think.

Veerni is female, veer for male. And it can be combined if you don't think it is too long to say every time.

 

Oh, so pavitr specifically refers to male??

 

Pavitr means holy. No gender reference here.

for male holy warrior use Pavitr Veer and for female use Pavitr Veerni.
