    Yall Iʻve been reading a lot of novels and constantly finding new ones everyday to read. But Iʻve found myself to be a repeat offender of not finishing (already completed) novels that originally interested me. Like Iʻll read a whole 100 chapters and be super interested in the beginning and then just canʻt continue reading even if the plot itself is still interesting. Iʻve been starting novels, binging them half way through, and then just marking where I left to find another novel. I havent found a novel I been interested enough to finish for weeks ;^; so many unfinished stories

    anyone else?

    I have more trouble finding one that is completely translated. I always end up forgetting about the novel after getting to the latest chapter because I put them on the binge later list only to not have an ounce of motivation to pick them up again.

    Sounds more like an ADHD thing to me. Usually when you get burned out, you don't want to read at all. Or don't want to read a specific genre anymore. If you're picking up novels and find yourself really interested in them at first, but struggle to finish them, your problem probably isn't burn out.

    THAT TOO! honestly I donʻt know what the problem is. I just cant get back into it even though they were like my all time favorite stories at the time. Is it being burnt out or did I really just get bored of the novel ;_;

    I've been going through cycles of that for years... Luckily today I've suddenly jumped back into things.

    ah perhaps youʻre right about being tired of the genre. I guess itʻs time to dive into new genres *siiiigh*

    My advice is don't read when you're not enjoying it. Try other hobbies like playing instruments, doing art, watching anime or movies. After some time, maybe you'll get the urge to read again. If reading is a hobby, make sure you're enjoying it.

    I read while I am at the gym. so the more I can binge, the longer I am on the treadmill. Easily get my 10000 steps a day that way.

    You are just not that interested on those novels, it happens sometimes that you get something that is made of familiar tropes, but looks fresh enough to keep going, and then you know its going to be more of the same so you just quit
    I learned to recognize it, and i quit them faster than before
    Just try other media for variety, non-superhero comics are pretty original and varied and are my go-to choice for a change of pace

    Sounds normal to me... my problem is that I fear picking up a really good read because it's like an addiction. I can't put it down, and it ruins my sleeping and eating habits.

    I get this. I find taking a break from the novel is best. I will go back and read it later. Sometimes a month later or even later then that because I forgot about the novel. Then I reread a few chapters. Then the plot comes back and I can enjoy the rest of the story.

    Sounds pretty much like how I feel when I burn out. I still feel like reading something, and I find novels that I think are interesting, but once I start reading them, after 50 or so chapters, I feel sick of it and lose interest.

    The only thing I can say is, take a break for a week or so at the very least. And all those books you found and dropped? Bookmark them and try them after a month or two. You'll most likely enjoy them.

    I dont feel the obligation to finish a crappy story…

    most chinese novels are utter crap after 200 chapters.

    Not helping most CN novels seem to be generic cultivation #994840
