Hello! I'm thinking bout getting into cosplay, that's said the only place I really know to go shop for this stuff is amazon. Any store recommendations? Also any tips for beginners in cosplay?
Like others said, you can buy it, but I know a lot of people who make their own. My sis was into this and she made her own costume and she got me to help make a paper mache halbard (lots of layers of paper is surprisingly stiff). Her current project is an Iron Man mask, you can get some of the layouts online, cut according to the paper then fold it. If you are just starting out with a limited budget, try making your own, it's surprisingly easier than I thought.
It depends on where you live? Join local anime or cosplay groups on FB or discord. They'll tell you about the most affordable shops or websites. You can also buy 2nd hand products there.
That depends on where you stay. If you are in Asia, then shopee/lazada will do If not, then taobao.com (+ taobao proxy in your country).
I’m the same. I would love to do cosplay. Unfortunately, my job and family life make that impossible. Besides Its hard to find a darker skin characters to cosplay. Many people recommend making your own. For some reason people who buy their cosplay are considered wannabes. While the tru cosplayers build their own. If you go on YouTube. There are many tutorials there. I recommend starting there
Kind of yea, I have actually been wanting to try it out for a while now but am a bit of shy with the idea of dressing up. So I thought that Halloween was the perfect time to test it out.
I bought a dark elf cosplay before Covid. It was awesome to finally cosplay. I had long white hair and elf ears. I also had a lords jacket with black slacks. It was so much fun that Halloween. I hope you have a great Halloween
