tl;dr - L4 arranged marriage/ship novel where the MCs dont love each other but respect each other (non modern setting) Hey, so most romance novels I’ve read have had a power discrepancy in some form and/or marriage for love. e.g.: - noble/commoner, royal/noble - the main couple generally marry w love, or even if they think there’s no love, it’s just a misunderstanding I’m looking for recommendations for novels that have a main couple that have smth like an arranged marriage, respect each other and live well together. They don’t necessarily have to fall in love before the end of the novel, since real life doesn’t work that way. Some things I’d like: - if not completely translated, ongoing/active translations please - I’ll take dropped novel recs if it’s in Chinese since I can read the raws - I’ll also take Chinese raw recs! - I prefer historical settings (historical Asia, medieval Europe, etc) over modern - if it’s a xianxia/wuxia/fantasy/etc then hit me with those too - I read both BG and BL, Some titles for this that I’ve read and really liked are Eight Treasures Trousseau, To Be A Virtuous Wife,,,, (can’t think of any more off the top of my head)
First thought after reading the description was If This Isn’t Love, which is a short oneshot. But these tags should help: https://www.novelupdates.com/stag/arranged-marriage/ https://www.novelupdates.com/stag/marriage-of-convenience/
In The Job of an Imperial Concubine, MC is a transmigrated PR student who sees her marriage as a job and ML is an emperor who thinks his concubines should be pampered but not more
I have checked the tags before and the reason I posted this thread was bc the large majority of these stories start off with love rather than companionship I have read this one!
Transmigration: The Marshall's cannon fodder wife MC and ML go from childhood cinnamon bar to married companions to married ennemies to married friends to deeply in love married couple
Some of my fav arranged marriages First Marriage Then Love (this is def companionship to love but it's modern) Doomed to be Cannon Fodder (a classic, ancient china) Reborn as My Love Rivals Wife (rivalry-> friendship-> love, gender ender, but its modern >_>) The Villain's Love (R18, kind of live well together and come to love each other, tragedy, medieval)
Ooh I’ve read the second and third so if you’re recommending the other two together w them then I’m sure they’ll be good reads! Thank you!
