It’s already shown in the manhwa’s ch3 when he naively states that there should be trust between him and MC as his employee, but the butler predicts that trust won’t work with the best scammer in the kingdom. ML is probably not dumb, but just very trusting and idealistic.
How far are novel translations currently? There were comments ML is doing this for revenge on one of his siblings
When I saw the manwha's raws (I didn't see them on kkao), I thought so too that he's doing it for revenge (I can't read Korean, so I looked at the pics's context). His brother (with whom he seemed pretty close, and we see them as children and teens) was apparently murdered: he got his neck sliced. He's first seen in chapter 11: Redix took Viper with him to what looks like an underground place and there was a coffin covered with a drape. He took off the drape, revealing his deceased sibling. We can see his brother when he was alive in chapter 13. Poor Redix cried for his brother (chapter 15) but Viper cheered him up, after he read his brother's letters His brother too, had cried (chapter 14) when writing one of the letters since there were tears mark on the paper Spoiler: Pics of Redix's brother When he was first shown in his coffin When he was alive, talking with Redix Bonus: When Redix visited his brother's resting place again, but with his aide I would like to know if Redix end up lifting the spell he cast on Viper (the slave contract his aide talked about and pushed him to use on her to prevent her to flee, since he said that someone like Viper would never obey willingly and has no loyalty) If so, when he did it, and why/what pushed him to do it...
I just skimmed the manhwa up to the latest chapter and FL's background (her parents) is still unknown. She told ML she doesn't even has her own name. ML named her Rosyca Drax and made her a daughter of Drax Dukedom (probably that's reason behind the manhwa title).

The MTL of the last chapter mentions that her biological parents Spoiler are present at her wedding and her father is a King. So I guess it’ll turn out that she’s a long-lost or kidnapped princess from another kingdom. I think it would have been a better plot if she was just an ordinary scammer with low background, but it might turn out fine if the parents are added for more than 1 plot twist.

I think thats for the best since it would be troublesome for her to be a criminal commoner and empress. That's his nephew not his brother. They were born around the same time so they grew up together.
