Discussion Unique habits of your family

Well I will start with mine

my family has a habit of forgetting where they keep the things. When needed we need to turn the house upside down.

 

That is not really unique little Tech, people do forget stuff and have to turn the house upside down to look for it, not just your family
But that is really sort of a hard topic, unique habits of my family... honestly, can't really think of something unique, I will tell you something about myself instead, I tend to overthink things sometimes and like to consider both the good and the bad sides of everything before I take my decision, not in the sense that I ignore the bad side in favour of the bright one XD

 

We check locks mutliple times, even abusing them to make sure it was locked

My family has a habit of not really acting like a family.
Also my sister forgets me at stores a lot, but I take 30% of the blame because I do get lost quite easily but..uh yeah.

 

I might have that habit too

 

Habit of never taking medicine like ibuprofen!! My parents are scared of addiction lol

 

We keep making sure,
"the lock is locked right?"
"we don't forgot to lock it right?"

Also getting really angry with the politicians and scolding them (while they're on TV) for their nefarious treatment of our people.

Same thing but mine is different in the part where they always talk shit about family members behind their back all the freaking time like sons, daughters, in-laws, children, grandchildren,etc

My dad has a habit of always going number one in any empty container.

And I’m like “Hey I was going to drink out of that.” in my mind.

“Or don’t complain to me when your coffee tastes like piss.”

 

Same

 

We don't eat any meals together. People take their food and split off to do their own thing.
95% of the time people are doing their own thing in their rooms.

Interactions/family time is almost always random, doing scheduled things usually never works out and feels uncomfortable. We tried before. Whenever we plan ahead to watch a movie or play a board game or something, stuff comes up somehow or someone just doesn't feel like it and the plan is ka-poof. We went on camping trips and watched movies more when I was still a kid, but it was still an exception.

But many times I'll end up watching a movie or show because I went to get a snack and what someone else was watching looked interesting. Or end up in a long conversation about something random because I was walking nearby. Is fun.
(Except when it's politics, then it is decidedly not fun.)

I have six siblings, so maybe that's unique? idk.

 

My family has this habit of mixing up dinner times. As in sometimes we'll call lunch supper or breakfast with snack time. The longest one we've been mixing up is dinner and tea time which I find hilarious.
Inviting guests with "Would you like to come over for tea? " And they'll respond with yeah. Expecting biscuits or coffee and we'll dish out a full course meal.

 

My family most of the times, do things spontaneously. One day, my dad got off work, it was Saturday, my mom and him didn't have to go to work. So, when we were driving around, we stopped in front of our favorite hotel, then we just decided to book a room. When I was little (until I became 11 years old, I guess), most of our staycations weren't planned.

Since the hotel is not even an hour to our house (I live in a pretty small island), we just booked a room, went back home to take some clothes, then bought dinner in the city.

Ohhh, my family isn't exactly like that. We also plan our things and travels. My sister and I promised to watch Hometown Cha Cha Cha today but we couldn't finish it, so we agreed to continue watching it tomorrow.

My family's political stand, well, we're somewhere above 50% similar.

I think what may not be so common in other families is that my family debates a lot. We can make each other speechless, but most of the time, it's my sisters vs me : )

My eldest sister was once a provincial champion in English Debate, she also competed in national level. My mom and dad are very clever in words. My second sis is also not bad in debate. I swear to God, being in my family has trained me to receive unexpected responses whenever I have a presentation.
